Feeling emotional about the ending

Feeling emotional about the ending

I grew up with these kinds of games, and I certainly feel all the inspirations behind Mina The Hollower and it's development. The fact that there's no dialog or "cutscene" in the final fight as Thorne rushes in to shield you from Lionel's attacks and it's just something you have to accept in the thick of the last battle is a serious thrill.

Watching his skin melt off in that final attack was a serious gut punch though, of course followed up by his body falling off the tower.

The silence and control of the final moment of the game where you land on the remote island to heal Thorne actually made me tear up. It's a mechanic you were taught you could do a few times throughout the game, and you very instinctively know this is what you must do as you see he is barely breathing. It's a beautiful moment in an otherwise very bitter ending that sent most of the island into a state of chaos after the events of the game.

What an awesome story. I was not expecting to be floored by the story as much as I was, but if this is what they spent the extra 4 years on, I'm glad they took their sweet time.

10/10 indeed ❤️
