What’s one thing nobody warned you about financially before moving abroad?
I’ve been reading a lot about expat finances lately and it seems like everyone runs into at least one unexpected issue after relocating.
Could be taxes, banking, insurance, transferring money internationally, budgeting differences, currency exchange, or just the overall cost of settling in somewhere new.
For people already living abroad, what caught you off guard the most financially? And what advice would you give someone preparing for their first move overseas?
