Best Places to Live in Europe as an Expat

London, Paris, Rome- those are usually the first cities that come to mind when people think about moving to Europe. However, they also come with high living costs, competitive housing markets, and a pace of life that isn't for everyone.

Vienna topped our own rankings. Interestingly, it didn't score highest in any single category. Instead, it performed consistently well across the board, which made it the most balanced choice overall. The city center is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, there is a thriving arts scene, and public transport paired with abundant green space. The job market is strong too, particularly in manufacturing, engineering, and finance.

Climate ends up mattering more in these decisions than people expect going in. From Iceland's northern lights to the sunny coast of Portugal and Spain, the range across Europe is huge. Some people want that warm, outdoorsy lifestyle down south, while others prefer the cooler, more reserved pace further north.

For healthcare, Stockholm and Amsterdam consistently come up as having some of the strongest systems on the continent.

If you were picking somewhere purely on lifestyle fit instead of the obvious picks, where would you go?
