Cat has broken femur and is panting fast
Last night I saw my cat (1 year old) and he wasn’t using his back left paw I thought maybe there was a thorn he stepped on in the house but I noticed it was really bad so in the morning we took him to the vet and they said he has a broken femur and part of his knee is damaged.
They said maybe he got stuck on something and twisted himself. We have the money to do the ortho surgery and we are waiting for a quote. they want to put a pin in his knee and femur or they also said amputation is an option.
We just got back from them this afternoon they gave us pain meds. The specialist will give us a quote but my cat is laying down and he is panting very fast and Idk if they will be fast with the surgery what if it takes so long to get it and he gets worse??
Has anyone else gone through this before I want to go to the emergency vet but I called and they said they don’t to orthopedic surgery. Should I just wait patiently? I’m worried about his panting though.
