Where is Justin Smith??
Justin Smith should be on this World Cup team.
He just played 33 games in LaLiga2 (possibly the best 2nd tier league in the world). When you watch him play, you see the level of his:
-versatility
-work rate
-intelligence
He could start for us at CB if Bombito or Jones lack fitness from their respective injuries. Undoubtedly, he's more qualified and talented than Waterman, Knight-Lebel (English 4th tier), and de Fougerolles (English youth league). Although he's probably not at the level of Cornelius, their games would fit well together. I could see Smith playing higher with more passing and dribbling duties and Cornelius as the last line of defense.
He could also surely earn minutes in the midfield. This is especially true if we need more defense in a given situation. He might even start next to Kone if Eustaquio's playing time is an indication of his form (although this could be said for Sigur as well).
And I don't want to hear about him never playing a game for us. He's the kind of player who can slot right in as much as almost any. Plus we have 2 friendlies to get us prepared. It's a fun storyline, too.
I still believe in our guys plus or minus any one player. Of course, maybe I'm missing something. But I think if we want to be at our best, we should have Justin Smith on the team.
