Where, oh, where?
Born and raised in North Texas and my husband and I are considering looking for somewhere else.
Our wish list:
- blue state or blue city in a purple state.
- strong teacher’s unions. We are both in education and my husband is currently in school to become an assistant principal.
- decent cost of living. We are making about 130-140k right now and can generally afford the things we like and want with some planning.
- multicultural. Specifically a strong Mexican presence and Asian presence.
- Weather. Decent? I know I couldn’t handle the frozen tundra that is Wisconsin, but I also don’t want to go any hotter than where we already are.
- Nature. North Texas has some nice parks, but I would love to be near a beautiful place. Oceans, mountains, giant forests, huge lakes. Something more than the parking lots and grass lawns we have here.
- direct flights to DFW, if possible.
I have a rough idea of what places will be suggested, but I’m excited for more ideas!
