Men don’t get enough vasectomies
So I was doing a little bit of research on vasectomies, and it really confused me when I saw that they have basically no side effects, they’re basically painless, they’re REVERSIBLE, and they’re effective like 99% of the time, yet they aren’t pushed like how birth control is. The effects that birth control has on the female body are endless—hormonal changes, weight fluctuations, hair loss, acne, heavy and irregular periods, nausea, depression, etc etc. Why do women have to do all the heavy lifting when both parties don’t want kids?
Sure, if you don’t have insurance, they can get expensive, but a child costs even more.
Edit: ALSO, wouldn’t the number of single mothers would go down astronomically? Think about it, you know you don’t want kids, so why not get the procedure done and avoid child support?
Edit #2: I need all the men saying that female birth control isn’t painful to Google “IUD implantation procedure” and come back, IUDs are 99% affective while the pill is only 93% affective, women also don’t get anesthesia during the procedure. I never said vasectomies are painfree and the perfect birth control solution because THEYRE NOT. But… If you’re 100% sure you don’t want kids and you don’t care about the potential consequences, it’s a very good option that should be considered more.
