New Phone Woes
Today I bought a new phone to replace the unusable one I had. It's nothing special, just the cheapest Galaxy phone I could get (A16).
I purchased a NEW Straight Talk phone (Galaxy A16) from Walmart. All I'm doing it switching phones. My account is good, it's on direct payments from my bank, not phone cards. Don't know if all that matters.
My problems: I hot-swapped the SIM and when I entered the new IMEI number, it said that number was black listed. I went back to Walmart and we called Customer Service together to find out that the IMEI is already used. They refunded my new phone and sold me the same thing.
I went home to activate it. Somehow, I can make calls and send text messages that go through, but my contacts are all gone, and when people I have asked send me messages nothing goes through on my end.
I'm looking at Straight Talk's website right now (not mobile site) and after entering my credentials -- which worked JUST FINE this morning -- the site gives me an " ! Alert Resource not found. " message.
I can't get a human from Customer Service.
Please help me. I only bought this phone because I broke my last one, and I can't access it at all, not possible.
Sob story time: I JUST started a new job on Thursday, haven't even had my first real day yet, and now I don't have a functional phone, and I certainly have no money to buy something else on a different carrier.
Please, please someone out there, please have experience with this. I need a phone by tomorrow.
Thank you for reading.
EDIT EDIT EDIT: The part in bold that says I can send messages is wrong. I tried calling my boss and got nothing. I don't know why I thought I was good on the outgoing comms. My apologies.
THE FINALEST OF ALL EDITS: Gave up, signed up with T-Mobile, got a new A17 on promotion for $30+ tax. Thank you, everyone! Eff Straight Talk
