I was trying to get the promo in the picture. While I was activating the walmart+ membership, i took me to the screen that told me I will be getting $20 walmart cash upon activation. However, the walmart cash didn't hit my account. Anyone having similar issues? Would it show up if I wait a bit longer?

Straight Talk: 82 days and counting

Today is day 82 of the Open Issues; Account info update and unable to reach a human being in regular C/S.

Today is a noteworthy day because today is the first day in which agents are actually working on the issues, saying the 'case has been escalated'.

So, in this instance, it took 82 days for the agents to start working on the open issues.

Some things I've learned along the way that helped me get this far:

  1. Almost everything the agents say is rude, disrespectful, accusatory, aggravating, and antagonistic.
I believe they do this with the intent of chasing the customer off so we don't ask them to do the work.

  2. Being passive about this works significantly better than engaging and arguing with them.
Settle in and be prepared for a lot of calls, a lot of nonsense, and a lot of poor behavior from them, as that's all they have to offer.
Instead, have your own script ready, keep it basic and simple, and make sure you're clearly asking them to resolve the issue(s) in every call.

  3. Be sure to document as you go. In 82 days I've documented hundreds of emails and thousands of phone calls; nothing extravagant, just a quick note.
These numbers will come in handy when you're ready to file the lawsuit.

ST charged me extra, every customer service agent gave me a different excuse

I know my service was almost at the end of the cycle, so I went on app to check and looked at my previous bills and found that my usual $90 3-line (which usually comes to under $100) was charged $132 last cycle! I was the 35th person waiting for the service chat, but waited. They confirmed that my 3rd line was not discounted BUT because I was *almost* at the end of my service they couldn't refund me.

Asked to be given the customer service line and waited about 30 minutes.

The next person I talked to said I wasnt overcharged. I said the chat person said I was for the third line, she places me on hold. Tells me that because my service had lapsed (which im 90% sure it had not) they did not give the discount for the 3rd line. I said that the price for the billing cycle was the same as always on the top of the app. IF I SAW I was paying $130 for the 3 lines, I could of just gone to Walmart and bought the $90 3-line card, to which she replied "yeah".

Without a doubt, the payment page said the usual amount and then they took extra feom my bank account. AND they never said anywhere that lapsing on-time payment means paying in full for all accounts. I have been with ST for over 10 years and even when I didnt refill on time, I was never charged this much for it. I know it's only $30, but for a family of 5 that is barely making ends meet, $30 can feed us all for 2 days.

Has this happened to anyone else???

New Phone Woes

Today I bought a new phone to replace the unusable one I had. It's nothing special, just the cheapest Galaxy phone I could get (A16).

I purchased a NEW Straight Talk phone (Galaxy A16) from Walmart. All I'm doing it switching phones. My account is good, it's on direct payments from my bank, not phone cards. Don't know if all that matters.

My problems: I hot-swapped the SIM and when I entered the new IMEI number, it said that number was black listed. I went back to Walmart and we called Customer Service together to find out that the IMEI is already used. They refunded my new phone and sold me the same thing.

I went home to activate it. Somehow, I can make calls and send text messages that go through, but my contacts are all gone, and when people I have asked send me messages nothing goes through on my end.

I'm looking at Straight Talk's website right now (not mobile site) and after entering my credentials -- which worked JUST FINE this morning -- the site gives me an " ! Alert Resource not found. " message.

I can't get a human from Customer Service.

Please help me. I only bought this phone because I broke my last one, and I can't access it at all, not possible.

Sob story time: I JUST started a new job on Thursday, haven't even had my first real day yet, and now I don't have a functional phone, and I certainly have no money to buy something else on a different carrier.

Please, please someone out there, please have experience with this. I need a phone by tomorrow.

Thank you for reading.

EDIT EDIT EDIT: The part in bold that says I can send messages is wrong. I tried calling my boss and got nothing. I don't know why I thought I was good on the outgoing comms. My apologies.

THE FINALEST OF ALL EDITS: Gave up, signed up with T-Mobile, got a new A17 on promotion for $30+ tax. Thank you, everyone! Eff Straight Talk

Straight talk is straight up ripping us off and thinks we're stupid. So I made them cancel my service, and you probably should too unless you think a year has 13 months.

I considered cancelling this months ago the first time it happened but when you pay for "30" days and check your service remaining, it will say 28. A few times I called and they fixed it in the past, but this time they refused. I made them cancel and found another provider with a service tier at the same price, who even offers free phones if you need. I implore anyone still on this garbage service to switch if you can. For some perspective on how shortening 2 days a month will impact you: if you were to stick with them for a year, you'll pay for 13 months. Fuck that. I'm out.

Is anyone here experiencing StraightTalk telling them they have a late service fee when they paid for their service already?

THIS HAS BEEN FIXED!! EDIT 3 OF THE POST HAS INFORMATION ON WHAT HAPPENED

Hey, I'm making this post because my mom (who pays for our service) has been trying, and failing, to get in contact with StraightTalk to deal with the issue of them telling us our service fee wasn't paid when she did pay it.
Is anyone else dealing with this? How do we go about contacting someone for help with the issue without having to pay them for the second time since we already have paid, and mom has proof that she paid them.
Sorry if this isn't the place for questions like this, but we really need the help and this was the only place I could think of that could have information..
edit: StraightTalk is claiming our bank did a charge-back, but there's no evidence of one, and my parents did NOT request a charge-back
edit 2: StraightTalk is saying our bank 'refused to pay' when mom has proof that the payment was succesful
edit 3: apparently they tried charging us twice due to an error and the bank refused to charge us the second time because the first payment already went through, so apparently they're fixing our service!

77 days (11 weeks) of asking Straight talk to resolve two issues....

On February 26th, 2026, I found and reported two issues to Straight Talk:

  1. Unable to edit my profile information, I get an error saying I need to call customer service to find out what to do next.
  2. When I call customer service, the automated system hangs up without letting me speak with a human being.

I've provided all of the details to Straight Talk/ Tracfone/ Verizon more than 10,000 times and they still refuse to assist, or resolve the issues.

They make it worse with the use of Bad Customer Service; talking over me, ignoring me, arguing, lying, blaming, accusing, and so on.

They make it worse again by becoming abusive; verbally attacking/ assaulting, using insulting names and terms, and then hanging up after blaming me for their refusal to accept any details.

I realize that most of this behavior is just 'normal' for the foreign/overseas agents, and it's a cultural difference wherein they find it acceptable to speak to each other in such ways that we Americans consider abnormally rude, disrespectful, and harmful, but that doesn't make it okay. It DOES place the problem in the hands of the company that hires these horrible creatures.

So, if you're wondering whether or not to go ahead with business with Straight Talk, remember that to them it's okay to call the customer a 'stupid American asshole', to hang up on the customer, and/or to abuse the customer endlessly.

Despite my best efforts, it's been 11 weeks now, and there is still no resolution to either of these issues.

I have finally found and ordered a replacement service, and I look forward to trying that out.

Unlocking phone or switching carriers for international roaming?

I'm traveling internationally in a few weeks and I'd really like to be able to use my phone. I've been with straight talk for probably 12 years, and I've had the phone that I have rn (iPhone 12) for about 4 years now. I know straight talk doesn't have international roaming so I've considered getting an esim or switching carriers to ATT and keeping the same number.

Problems: I tried switching to ATT before and it was like a 3 hour ordeal of ATT rep and straight talk customer service arguing with each other before I eventually gave up and went home with my same phone. For problems with getting an esim, my phone says it is carrier locked and when I check straight talk's website to unlock it, it says I'm not eligible. I don't understand this, because when I read their unlocking policy, I meet all of the requirements.

I'm traveling in about three weeks and I'm just trying to weigh my options. I really don't want to just rely on wifi for texting as I've ran into major scary problems doing that last time I traveled internationally.

Is my unused phone locked

I have an iPhone SE that I bought in 2022 and never opened the box (or activated obv). It would have been a 2 year commitment, but.. (stupid question) now that’s it been 4 years does that change anything?

Why is straight talk texting me at 6am? Do they text early for you?

I'm getting the "we are going to refill" and "we refilled you service texts at 6 am. You cant unsubscribe to these. Do they text you this early? This is a communication company that can't send texts at a reasonable hour? They know what time zone I'm in. I don't get why they would want to annoy customers. This is basic common sense.

ST home internet

The longer I have my home internet with straight talk the worse it seems to get, the first month I had no problems, second month my Ethernet stops working on the router completely, third month now multiple times a day sometimes multiple times a hour the connection completely cuts out on all devices then comes back within like 30 seconds to a minute. I’m not even 1ft away from the router most times, anyone else have issues with this?

Cannot receive or send texts/calls to or from androids

This has happened before. Can’t text or call anyone unless you have an iPhone which is only thanks to apples iMessage and FT audio. Before I would turn my phone off then back on and receive a flood of texts from android numbers. Now though, that doesn’t even happen and I’m just shit outta luck. And my phone is updated. Also at work watching a video it would just buffer for like 5 min.

Essentially looks to me like my data straight up doesn’t work. Which is unlimited btw…

I’ve missed out on someone trying to reach out to give me food after a 12 hour shift and not being able to borrow a car for errands. All in 12 hours lol. I hate straight talk. All these posts about Customer service, and thinking about my own experience makes me wanna not bother and look into cricket. I’ve heard better things about them anyway.

Anyone else have this issue?

Can't Find Order

Hello, I ordered a phone through Straight Talk 4/29/26. I just had a conversation with chat and the agent looked up the order ID number and said there wasn't an order in their system with my email address. I uploaded the email I received from straight Talk after the order was placed, The previous agents mentioned the phone was on backorder so now after today's chat I decided to call my bank and report the item was cancelled. How often does a situation like this happen with Straight Talk?

After waiting maybe three days I ordered a different phone through total wireless a few days ago and the phone was delivered today, I didn't want to spend extra money to order another phone but I really needed a new phone A.S.A.P.
