Original Trim - 1924 home

I hope this is an ok question for this sub! But I'd love to know if I'm on the right track with ideas to work with the trim in my home. It has the alligator texture from shellac and I'm guessing a century:) of overall buildup.

Some people have said to use denatured alcohol to get rid of the shellac. Others have said I should use mineral spirits.

I have some pics of the wood if that helps. But if anyone has any insights that would be great!

How long did you wait for surgery?

I have hydronephrosis and a ureteral stricture and waiting for my nuclear renal scan, which is happening next week.

- 11.8 cm left kidney - smaller, but not shriveled. There is corticol thinning and a dilated renal pelvis. My bloodwork is ok, not high in creatinine. Urine sample is ok too

My urologist will tell me after the scan what my options are - fix the stricture or remove the kidney if it's non functional.

Right now I'd just love to know if others had surgery and how long they had to wait for it? I know i just need to wait for the scan to know which surgery I will need. But just curious if others waited weeks, months, year + type thing.

Thanks in advance!

Translations & Job Postings

At my company, we have a legal requirement to post jobs in certain locations in both French and English.

We have noted problems with the translation instance multiple times. We think the issue is rooted in the Reqeuster's (hiring manager) profile language.

Problem: there are instances where we are unable to add the French version of the posting. The User Language column shows French only and there are no rows for English. The only way to fix it is for the recruiter to change their Workday profile to French, post the French version, then switch back.

Our Operations team just tell us this is a known defect with Workday.

Do others here have experience with Workday in other languages? If so, do you have the same issues?

Hemnes vanity & Plumbing

I need a new vanity and I'd like to install the Hemnes without a sink version. I have a wall faucet, so the counter can't have pre-drilled holes.

My bathroom currently just has a wall mount sink. The P-Trap is have now fairly standard, probably about 10" to 12" long, so I know it will get in the way of the drawers.

I'm thinking of getting a new P-Trap installed that is more compact and getting a counter slab cut to install a vessel sink close enough to the faucet.

I've been told this is a lot of work and a pain in the ass. I feel this isn't that big of a project. I would get a plumber to do the p-trap and sink install

Has anyone done this type of work? Any advice on a compatible p-trap?

Kidney stones & ureteral stricture

I've recently learned I have kidney stones - a cluster of small ones and 1 large one that is 13mm. My ultrasound detected hydronephrosis so I had a contrast CT Scan and learned I also have a ureteral stricture. I have my urologist appointment in less than 2 weeks. This all happened fast.

This is likely crazy, but I've had flank pain on and off for years and I thought it was my QL muscle. There were times I thought about going to the ER, I should have!

So far my GP hasn't said my kidney seems damaged. Fingers crossed.

But I'm curious if others who have had the stricture & hydronephrosis also had bloating. I've naturally had a flat stomach most of my life, as I've gotten older I thought I was getting a larger lower abdomen from perimenopause. But now I'm wondering if it's more from the stones, hydronephrosis, stricture, etc. Just kind of everything going on in that area.

And if others had similar diagnoses, do you think I'll have surgery/treatment quite quickly?

Thanks!

Managing offer templates

I'm looking for insights on how other companies manage the offer changes & updates in workday. Where I work it is absolutely crazy and takes 9 months to get clauses/verbiage amended, logic created/fixed, etc.

We have 2 people dedicated to managing the changes and this is not enough clearly. Or they need to grant more people access.

Curious if others have insights on how long offer changes take for you and how difficult it is. I was under the impression you do it by managing document templates, creating new clause/text block & logic, adding language
