Should I get a hair transplant?

Hi guys, here are my before and after pictures on medication for 17 months.

I want to just fill in this area and work on the hairline but not sure if I should get a transplant as of now.

I don’t want permanent shock loss in these areas or take the jump into transplant too quickly but would love some advice.

Current regimen: 1 mg Fin + 5 mg min + 0.5 mg Dut
Age: 25 Male

Update after 17 months of medical treatment

Picture timeline: June 2025->Jan 2026->April 2026
->Today(12 May 2026)

Treatment protocol and adjustments:

Jan 2025 to June 2025: 1 mg of Fin
July 2025 to April 2026: 1 mg Dut + 5 mg Min
April 2026 to Today(12 May 2026): 0.5 mg Dut + 1 mg Fin + 5 mg Min

Notes:

Added Fin and reduced Dut dosage due to two reasons:

  1. Started to lose ground on dut from Jan 2026 till April 2026. Massive sheds in these months and hair was very oily. Added Ketaconazole and shed reduced greatly but lost a lot of ground.
  2. Dut availability is really short since the last 3 months so reduced dosage in May 2026 to have it available for some time till the shortage is finished.

Scalp visibility is really apparent but maybe comes back. I really hope it bounces back.

Still slowly progressing on meds

I feel I am still thinning and losing density + receding at a slower rate on dut+min+fin. I take all these orally. Topical anti androgens aren’t available yet.

Dut: 0.5mg everyday
Fin: 1mg everyday
Min: 5 mg everyday

Note: I take dut and fin together because Avodart gets short in my country and kinda facing quality issues. This just my personal thought since the last 4 months about Avodart.

Hello guys. You can see my previous Reddit posts for my history but shedding has gone down pretty much to maybe 30 to 40 hairs per day but the density is butchered. Temple recession is still quite a lot. Not sure if this is regrowth or stubble growth stuck at this length

Posting for pattern discussion, not diagnosis or treatment advice. I started experiencing hair loss around 2020–21 (initially temples, with mid-scalp involvement by 2024). After trying PRP/mesotherapy in 2024 without meaningful improvement, I began dutasteride plus oral minoxidil in July 2025 and saw clear regrowth from roughly Oct 2025 through Jan 2026, with January representing my best density in several years. Since Jan 2026, despite consistent medication use, I experienced increased shedding through March followed by stabilization, but visible density—particularly mid-scalp and one frontal side—has not returned to the January peak. There is currently no heavy active shed, more gradual visual thinning, alongside a noticeably oilier scalp. Ketoconazole use consistently improves scalp condition and hair appearance, while stopping it for ~2 weeks leads to visible worsening. Photos (Jan 2026 → April 2026) and trichoscopic images are included only as visual context. From a treatment-response perspective, does this pattern align more with follicle cycle resynchronization after a regrowth phase, inflammation-related effects, or loss of synchronized anagen despite continued therapy?
