I redesigned the flag of the Crimean Tatar Republic, blending it with Cumans/Desht-i Qipchaq imagery. What do you think?
As a Crimean Tatar myself, I redesigned the Crimean flag to commemorate and remember May 18th, the anniversary of the forced expulsion of Crimean Tatars from their homeland.
I wanted to use the traditional sky blue and gold color scheme and combine it with historical motifs from the Desht-i Kipchak (Cuman-Kipchak confederation). The symbols are the traditional Crimean Taraq Tamgha at the top, the Cuman-Kipchak lion at the bottom, the crescent and star at the bottom, and the Turkic eight-pointed star at the very bottom, all arranged within a wreath.
