This is the design I tried on my new fake skin (from Skinz) and the first time using a 1RL!

The lines with the 1RL are a bit shaky, I think my voltage was pretty high and I didn’t have much control, but I’m gonna work on that on the next designs.

On my works before, a big problem was the saturation… is it still bad? I personally think it was the cheap skin’s fault hahah

Also, I started trying to shade from the bottom (on the leaf) but this fake skin absorbs the ink so well. I don’t know how to shade on Skinz… Is that something that you guys struggle as well? If not, tips would be much appreciated ✨

Overall, what do you we think of my progress? What are good and bad points of this design?

Today is my 6th day since I’ve started practicing tattooing.

I’ve been trying to post here every time and get a feedback from fellow artists!
So I also have been trying the same designs in different days.
These little birds are from day 1, day 5 and day 6!
I have been trying to work more on saturation and machine control.

The last times I didn’t know much about needles, fake skin, etc, was just freestyle everything.
Now I’m doing more research and really put effort in learning more. This last design I used a 1005RL on a really shitty fake skin from Temu haha.
*I bought my Skinz and am waiting for them to arrive!

Also, please don’t mind the shadowing on the last one, I dropped the machine and messed the needles, so it started to rip the fake skin 😭

Okay, so what do you guys think? Is the improvement visible or not really?
What else can I improve?

This is my day 5! Yaaay
I realised I’m getting a better control and the depth is getting a bit more uniform (first 3 images). Also I’m trying to improve repeating the same design (last image) this is a 1 day difference work

I wanted to ask some questions for you guys:

1. How can I get a better control?
2. How can I get the same depth all along?
3. How is it looking? What can I improve?

I’m very excited about tattooing and I’m practicing literally every day.
I was thinking about going back to basics, lines, circles, etc…
But I see a lot of controversy on that: people saying it’s pretty good, and others saying it’s a waste of time.
What do you guys think?

Day 3 practicing on fake skin
I asked about the difference of fake skin and real skin on some posts back them, so for the moth, I’m showing how it looked before I cleaned with Vaseline.

For the three bottom ones, I know they are pretty inconsistent, I was just trying a different thing haha
But yeah, I’d love to know bad and good points and how my progress is going 🥹

I wanted to ask the artists that already changed to real skin:

How different is it from fake skin?

I have this problem that I do the lines and they look ok, very saturated before I clean them (with Vaseline) on fake skin, and then they look soooo weird after that. Then I have to line again and again on top of the ones that I’ve already done, but it doesn’t look right (final result on the pics)

I wonder if this is just a fake skin problem? Or is it like that with real skin too and my technique is shit? Lmao

Also, I wanted to ask about what I can improve. Good and bad points of this design too :)
