My boyfriend called me insensitive after I sent him a cat meme about a pretend religion. Am I in the wrong?
I’m aware the title may make this sound like my boyfriend is getting upset for no reason, but I would like to start with the fact that I do not think he is wrong, but I believe I may have crossed a line. Or maybe he is in the wrong. I don’t know. Also, I will not be sharing our ages for privacy reasons.
Anyway, as you can see above, I sent him a video, and his response is there too. So is my apology (I plan to talk to him about it in person as well). Now, he mentions that he knows I meant no harm while sending him this but he feels I am being ignorant of his feelings towards his religion (Christianity).
Reading this gave me a very guilty feeling in my gut, which I always get when I feel I did something wrong. But then I watched the video again, and I started feeling confused. I myself am an atheist so maybe that’s why I don’t get where he’s coming from on a religious level all that well, but this meme is clearly meant to be a joke and there hasn’t been an incident in the past where I made fun of what he believes in.
So I ask, who’s in the wrong? Me? Him? Nobody?
