Questions about cargo temperature for travelling with pets
I am moving from Vancouver to Toronto end of June and I have a standard dachshund which is bigger than miniature ones. My flight is Aircanada and the aircraft is airbus 321 and all I read online about it says it’s not recommended because of not having temperature control and can drop to 2 degrees. Talked to couple aircanada staff, they were not sure or they haven’t had enough information, just the person who was booking for me said, yes we do not recommend those aircrafts in winter and shouldn’t be any issues in summer, but isn’t the outside temperature cold in that height, no matter is winter or summer?
Dachshunds are so sensitive in cold and we are so nervous about the situation. Purchased sherpa deluxe soft large carrier bag to see if he fits in to come in the cabin. He does fit in, but air canada’s measurements 16x17x8 and the carrier size is 19x11.8X11.5. How restrictive they can be, or would they question the extra space the dog has inside the bag? I wanted to go to the airport and ask them now, but they said it really depends on the agent, so no point.
If not worth to risk this, does anyone have more information about the cargo temperature, and does it mean that is trustable because they already accepted the animal booking on that flight?
