Hello, we are Visa TD Aeroplan Privilege Infinite holders.
We are usually travelling on basic fares since we have benefits with our card.
I know that basic fare doesn’t include a carry on baggage. But on Air Canada page, it used to state the premium Aeroplan credit card holders could still bring a carry on. See screenshot.
However, that web page has been updated recently. And there’s no more mention about exceptions. https://www.aircanada.com/ca/en/aco/home/plan/baggage/carry-on.html
We are flying to Costa Rica in March 27.
I also know that my credit card gives me zone 2 boarding zone. So it should be ok.
Just wondered if anyone experienced bringing a carry on bag on a basic fare to a destination that doesn’t include it, recently.
Thanks a lot
Hello there, how do we book a ticket for a pet? He weighs 14lbs white miniature bichon. Planning to bring him in YWG to YYC next year
Recently used Air Canada vacations to arrange a trip of 21 people, and it went smoothly. Better prices compared to sunwing and transat. Sunwing had a quicker response time, but it was an additional 100 per head, and honestly ACV got back to us within a reasonable time. Transat was also 250$ more a head, for the same resort. Flight and seats went smooth, the transfer bus provided for our arrival and departure was on time. The staff in Mexico provided us a phone number to reach out for any onsite support, used it twice and both issues were resolved quickly. Just providing this for those looking for options, as this was my first time arranging a packaged vacation package, especially for this size of party, and there wasn't much reviews on ACV.
From July 6 to the end of 2026
Hi everyone,
I booked a ticket through Air Canada with a refundable fare/policy. The itinerary includes a segment operated by a partner airline. When I contacted Air Canada to cancel, they told me that because a partner airline is involved, part of the ticket will not be refunded.
I’m confused because I booked the ticket as refundable through Air Canada, and I expected the full ticket to be refundable under that fare type.
Has anyone dealt with this before? Does Air Canada’s refundable policy apply to the whole itinerary if it was booked on one Air Canada ticket, even when one segment is operated by a partner airline? Should I ask for the fare rules or escalate this?
Any advice would be appreciated.
I’ve read the other posts. I understand I can use my credit that is going to expire by booking a flight, when I’m ready to actually travel I can change it.
I’ve seen contradicting comments in this group regarding which fare class I need to book. Should I be booking FLEX fare to do so (free changes, refundable with a fee) or ECONOMY COMFORT (no change fee, refundable)? My AC wallet expires in 2 days so I am nervous and want to make sure I book the right fare class.
Part of why I booked a Business Latitude Reward instead of Standard was because I anticipated needing to move my flight. In the table while booking, Standard shows Changes "$ for a fee" under Standard, "Fare difference only" under Latitude. The same is noted on this table.
However, when I finalized the booking and went to the fare rules, it said $75 change fee. I tried a dummy change to see if that was an error or true, and it indeed tried to charge me $75 for the change.
What am I missing?
Heads up: the YVR domestic MLL is apparently closed due to a "maintenance issue" - staff said possibly for a few days.
Options are: AC Cafe near gate 46 (small) or the newer and larger AC café near gate 50.
I’m on the way home from the airport and I’m really confused at the moment. I booked a one way YVR-YYC for myself and my daughter - flying today, Flex. The fare rules show that I can cancel the flight within 45 min of boarding and have refund to wallet.
1.5 hrs before boarding I went to cancel the flight and found it cannot be done in the app anymore. Hassle. I log into the website and find that both cancel and change flight options are greyed out.
I try calling and eventually get a message that there is a 2 hr wait for an agent. I grab by tablet, hustle to the customer service desk and the 2 agents aren’t busy (yay) I explain the issue, show that I cannot do the cancellation myself and ask if they can help. One agent indicates that he has cancelled both of our tickets but that they cannot do anything for refunding and give me a card to go to a website.
I confirm with both agents that A) my fare is eligible for refund and that B) they’ve cancelled our booking (not check in as I had easy cancelled that).
As I drive home I see my booking is still valid and that I can check in. Is this thing now? Am I really going to have to fight to get my credit and how on Earth do I prove anything?
I’ve cancelled bookings in the past few years and this is definitely a first for me.
Flew TATL in J in May and had a deflated seat. It wasn't fun sitting in that for >12h. Flight attendant helped me fill an OBC form and I got the email with wifi code and promise to be contacted in 10 business days. However, I didn't hear back ever so I submitted a general complaint form. Heard back last week and they said OBC policy changed and only offered me 30k aeroplan pts. I had the same issue on a TATL flight before and was offered refund of J fare difference. Has anyone else gotten OBC with ecoupons or refunds recently?
This is great, but I'd love to see year-round service. I thought the route was staying until October when it was first announced, but this article says it ends around Labour Day. Not sure if there was a change, or maybe the demand just wasn't there.
I'm flying from Portland to Montreal. I didn't see any notifications that this route isn't eligible to use aeroplan points... Does anyone know why I can't use them?
Just heard about a flight that left Toronto for Montreal well-delayed, flew all the way and couldn’t land, and came back to Toronto. Does anyone know why this happened ?
Got e-upped on a double flight overnight to Europe. Wife got PE.
Didn’t think there was a chance for J as we were 10 down. Didn’t know they split us either.
Will marriage survive?
Edit: I did offer the seat swap. But said this is ok.
Has anyone flown their pets through AC Cargo (cats and dogs)? I am flying my labrador to Newfoundland from Alberta next month and am a little unsure on the water and feeding requirements.
From AC Cargo:
- The water container must be present and affixed within the shipping container with outside access for filling. It should not require the opening of the shipping container allowing potential escape of the animal.
- Kennels will not be accepted for carriage if there are water bottles or receptacles attached to the outside of the cage door.
So, does this mean that her water dish should have an opening on the outside of the door to pour water into or not? Also what kind of dish should I use for food if they can’t open the kennel door to feed her?
Any and all info would be so so helpful! Thank you!
Ac has my medical accomodation document on file. The first leg of my trip is with ac, after it's Lufthansa for the connecting flight and coming back it's two branches of Lufthansa (smaller airlines bur under the Lufthansa umbrella).
My accomodation is not physically visible. When I spoke with Lufthansa, they booked my seats according to my accomodation but said I may be asked by an agent to prove it
Has anyone in a similar predicament ever been asked by a codeshare airline for proof of medical condition?
