Splitting award ticket

Trying to book an award ticket within asia. The direct flight I want to take has no availability in J, but if I book a further destination, it allows me to get on the flight I want (with an onward one after). I would skip lag but I need to check bags.

Is it possible to call and split the award ticket into two bookings and then cancel the latter leg?

Extra bag for guest on SAS flight with STE+

Hey everyone, I have STE+ from DL Platinum. I am flying LHR-ARN with one guest on the same reservation. We booked economy light tickets.

Both of us have golf bags to check. My name has a checked bag included but his does not. Do my benefits for extra bag extend over to him?

Two separate award bookings/check bags through

Hi, I've booked two separate Cathay legs, one in F and one in J. There's about a 2.5 hour layover in HKG between the two flights. Would they check my bags all the way through at the check in counter? Or is there a way to combine them in the app first?

Does anyone have a recommendation/contact for a good club promoter?

Looking to get tables for myself/friends. Please let me know. Particularly looking for places with mid 20s nightlife and house music.

Magalon * (Charleston, SC)

Magalon might’ve been one of the most disappointing meals I’ve had this year, and I have no clue how they managed to get a star. I went alone, which only allowed me to get two dishes at a tapas restaurant, but I was recommended these by a hinge match (never taking advice from there again).

The chorizo and goat cheese bread was okay, but the chorizo looked like it was sourced from Walmart and had the consistency of cheap pepperoni. It tastes good, but not when I’m paying $20 for it. My other dish was the beef cheek. This came out looking like a brick of slop, it wasn’t tender, and had no flavor to it at all despite swimming in broth. I’d take the short rib I had on my Delta flight over any day of the week over this.

Another thing - while they had an extensive vermouth menu, they could not make a Negroni and claimed to be beer and wine only. They said beer and wine only despite having just two beers on the menu, one of which was a cider.

Service was decent, but felt more like a hipster joint (they brought the check in a sardine box) than a Michelin starrred restaurant. My bill came out to just under $100 with a glass of wine, which was not worth it at all.

Cathay Business vs First LHR-HKG

Hello everyone, looking to book an award ticket on vacation LHR-HKG (spending few days in the city then meeting friends elsewhere in southeast Asia). I can book business for 91k miles, or first for 125k miles. The taxes and fees are the same (4500 HKD, which is absurd but classic flying out of LHR). I've flown Cathay J on shorter flights and it was excellent.

I've heard Cathay first is a bit dated (read some reviews too). I wouldn't pay the cash premium to fly first over business, but 34k miles doesn't seem like too much. And first class is always a treat to fly. What would you guys suggest in this situation, especially if you've flown Cathay J/F before.
