Canned Iced Tea On Flights

Is there a specific reason why canned iced tea such as Fuze or Brisk isn't served as an inflight drink option on Air Canada, WestJet, etc.? Is it because of the cans being 341mL or some other reason? Thanks.

Car rental returned with the “damage” smaller than a pen cap

The one time we don’t pay for full coverage insurance on a rental because the car was being rented for THREE days.

Update:

I found the photos of the car before drop off and sent them with the following email:

Hello Ashniel,

I also wanted to follow up and let you know that I have several photographs that I took of the vehicle at the time I returned it on July 23.

The photographs show multiple angles of the vehicle at the return location, and I do not see the damage referenced in your email visible in my photographs. I have attached the photos for your review. Given these photographs, I would appreciate it if you could identify the exact location of the alleged damage on the vehicle and provide any wider-angle photographs showing that location.
I would also still appreciate clarification regarding when the damage was first identified, what occurred with the vehicle between the time I returned it and the inspection, and what the next steps are from here.

This is what they responded with within 5 minutes of my email:

Hi ____,

Please disregard my email below. It was an error on my part.
There is a small chip on the front screen (on the lower section), however this damage was not done by you.
My sincere apologies for the misjudgement.

The Perfect U-Turn Spot

At 0:15, truck u-turns over the median grass. Southbound Kenaston lanes.

Edit: There was a fire truck and an unmarked police vehicle in the northbound direction by Sleep Country, and yet the audacity for this truck to do this.

Rome FCO to Civitavecchia Transfer

Hi, flying into Rome the day of, I know it's not recommended, first time we're doing it only because of flight reasons. It's a 10 hour interval between our flight landing and cruise departing. Some of you may comment on this, but please don't. I understand that but it's just how everything came into place here.

My actual question is does RC offer a cruise transfer from the airport to the port like they do in Orlando to Port Canaveral or do I have to book an expensive private transfer? The call centre said they didn't? My booking is Legend of the Seas, first September sailing.

I've also seen some shared buses and the train but you have to walk from the station to the port which isn't possible due to the amount of luggage we have and health conditions.

Thanks.

Kenaston Third Lane...

Every single day...

  1. You shouldn't impede traffic in a lane like the truck did before I took the video (the light was red and they just stopped there).
  2. Also as another commenter mentioned, no stopping signs throughout.

🚗 Welcome to r/AvisBudgetRentACar! | Main Information

Hi everyone, I'm u/WerewolfStreet434 the founder of this subreddit. When renting with Avis, Budget, or Payless, there weren't any subreddits to post in if there was an issue! I believe the old one was removed from Reddit for a safety reason. So, welcome and thanks for being here.

Whether you’re planning your first road trip, navigating loyalty perks, or trying to resolve a billing issue, this megathread covers our community guidelines, key customer support contacts, and answers to the most frequently asked questions.

Community Rules & Reminders

Before posting, please take a moment to review our community guidelines:

  1. Be Civil & Respectful: Treat all contributors, rental agents, and fellow members with kindness. Flaming, harassment, or personal attacks will result in post removal or bans.
  2. No Spam or Unsolicited Promotion: Do not post unauthorized discount codes, self-promotional media, affiliate links, or attempt to sell rental reservations/status matches.
  3. Protect Personal & Private Information (PII): Always blur or crop out full names, home addresses, phone numbers, full credit card numbers, and Wizard/Fastbreak account numbers before posting screenshots.
  4. Relevant to Avis & Budget Rental Car: Content should focus on rental experiences, fleet updates, status perks, billing questions, or counter advice. Unrelated general posts will be removed.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Credit Card Holds & Debit Card Rules

  • How much is the security deposit hold? Avis and Budget typically place a hold for the estimated rental total + $200 to $250 (amount varies by location and vehicle class).
  • Can I rent with a debit card? Yes, at most non-metropolitan/airport locations, but expect a credit check, proof of a return travel ticket (flight itinerary), and a larger hold placed on your account. Holds on debit cards can take 3 to 10 business days post-rental to clear depending on your bank.

Insurance & CDW (Collision Damage Waiver)

  • Do I need to buy insurance at the counter? If you have primary or secondary rental car coverage through your personal auto policy or credit card (e.g., Chase Sapphire, Amex Premium Car Rental Protection), you may decline counter insurance. Always verify coverage limits with your card issuer beforehand.
  • What if I get into an accident?
    1. Ensure everyone is safe and file a local police report.
    2. Exchange information with any other involved parties.
    3. Contact Avis/Budget Roadside Assistance immediately.
    4. Document everything with photos and file a claim with your primary insurance/credit card company immediately.

Vehicle Returns & Unclosed Contracts

  • What if I returned my car after hours or the agent didn't scan it? Always take clear photos of:
    • The fuel gauge & odometer reading.
    • The car parked in the lot (showing the license plate).
    • The drop box where you left the keys. If your contract remains open after 24 hours, call the local desk directly or contact customer service with your photos ready.

Response Times For Research Opportunities

Hi,

I want to ask a rather specific question, any insight would be appreciated. Many of you reading this will tell me to wait until university, but please read my post. Details will be vague as this post may be able to be traced back to me.

I'm currently a high-achieving high school student (going into grade 10, I know) and I cold emailed many researchers and surgeons for the possibility of any volunteering, lab work, data entry, paper review, etc. For obvious reasons, many didn't even reply to my email but I had to chance to connect with a surgeon/PI. We had an in person meeting a few months ago that went really well and told me opportunities for literature review, author lists, etc. with future papers they write. I sent a follow up email more than a month ago as well.

I know that all people in the healthcare sector are busy everyday of their lives, especially for surgeons as well, but as it's been a while with no response, I want to ask what the response time might be or if this opportunity is even possible.

Thanks so much.

Thank You SF!!

Visited this past week for a trip, as someone from central Canada, I want to express my appreciation for the city and overall, it was a great experience. This was one of few trips that I've taken that had zero bad experiences whatsoever and I truly enjoyed all of it. Thank you for all the recommendations: https://www.reddit.com/r/AskSF/comments/1t8vlcx/restaurant_recommendations/

I visited many of those restaurants, especially the seafood ones, and all the food was great.

Just the overall atmosphere of the city and things to do like Muir Woods, SF Giants game, Crissy Field, and so many others were unforgettable as well. Hopefully I can visit again someday, thanks San Francisco and everyone that lives in the area, I loved your city and the bay area!!! :)
