Garden Hall Single Ensuite Swap

Hi! I’m looking to exchange my Garden Halls contract with someone who has a similar contract.

Current contract:

  • 🏠 Garden Halls
  • 🛏️ Single Ensuite
  • 🍽️ Catered
  • 💷 £430.50/week
  • 📅 40 weeks

I’m looking to exchange for another single ensuite contract, ideally in an LSE hall.

Please DM me if you’re interested or have a contract you’d like to swap!

Rejected from HKU/CUHK/HKUST as an AP student—trying to understand why

Hi everyone, I’m trying to understand my application results for the three Hong Kong universities and would really appreciate some insight from people familiar with admissions there.

I’m an AP student graduating from an Asian high school, but I do not have a Chinese passport. My academic profile was roughly:

  • SAT: 1550+
  • 7 AP scores of 5
  • Graduating from a well-known Asian high school
  • Non-Chinese passport
  • Applied mostly to economics/finance/business-related programs

I applied in the early round. Despite this, I was rejected from every program I applied to at HKU, CUHK, and HKUST.

I know these programs are competitive, but I’m honestly a little surprised to have received no offers from any of the three, especially given the SAT/AP results. I am pretty sure that these statistics qualify for a scholarship, let alone admission. I’m wondering if there are any factors I’m overlooking.

Dual Citizen Applying for UK Student Visa (Upload All Pages?)

Do I have to upload all blank pages of both my passports to the VFS UK visa portal? One of them is pretty much empty, and the other one has visas and stamps from other countries (not the UK). Both of my passports are from countries that are categorized as low risk.

AP Student Going To The UK

I studied AP courses and SAT, and I am expected to attend a London-based university to study Economics this fall. Does anyone have the experience of adjusting to a new environment like this?

I have lived in different countries before, but this will be my first time living independently in the UK and studying at a highly competitive university. I am wondering how difficult the transition is academically and socially, especially coming from an American-style high school curriculum.

For those who moved from an international school or a different education system to a UK university, how long did it take you to adjust? Were there any major differences in teaching style, workload, making friends, or daily life that surprised you?

Also, are there any things you recommend preparing before arriving (academic skills, finance-related knowledge, cooking, social life, etc.)? I would really appreciate hearing about your experiences and any advice for an incoming international student.

UG BSc Economics Student Timetable

I have a confirmed offer to attend LSE as a BSc Economics student this fall. I am wondering what a typical timetable looks like for a first-year BSc Economics student. Also, when does course selection begin?

UG BSc Economics Outside Options List (Paper 4)

I have a confirmed offer to enroll at LSE to study for a BSc in Economics this fall. I am trying to figure out what LSE means by "Undergraduate Outside Options List (Year 1)". Apparently I have to fulfill 1.0 credits by choosing one (or two) outside options. What would be the best choice for a first year economics student trying to pursue a career in banking? And when does course selection open?

Verification of exam scores (AP Collegeboard)

Did any ap students verify their exam scores with Lse yet? I sent them my scores through Collegeboard but they were unable to verify for some reason.

Will My Score Be Cancelled

By the end of one of my ap exams (FRQ section), I accidentally pressed the screenshot button on my laptop (just once). It made a small noise but barely anyone noticed. After the exam I checked if the screenshot was taken, but it was only a blank white screen. Is my score getting cancelled for this?
