A BUS DRIVER ASSAULTED ONCE AGAIN!!!

Another shocking assault on a bus driver, highlighting the ongoing abuse frontline transport workers continue to face.

Despite multiple serious incidents in recent months, including the stabbing of a driver just a few months ago, drivers are still being subjected to violence, threats, and abuse while simply doing their jobs. Reports from this latest incident also indicate racist comments were directed at foreign-born drivers, adding another concerning dimension to the attack.

What is equally alarming is that the bus's SOS/panic button reportedly failed to work during the incident, raising serious questions about driver safety systems and emergency response procedures. Even more concerning, no drivers were notified to check their emergency buttons or advised of any potential issue following the attack. The incident occurred at approximately 6:40pm on Sunday night, yet many drivers only learned about it on Tuesday morning directly from the victim himself, followed by a company email hours later. The fact that nearly two days passed without drivers being informed of a serious assault involving a potentially failed safety system has left many questioning whether driver safety was being treated as a priority.

Meetings are currently taking place between Keolis, the union, and the safety committee to address the situation and discuss what immediate actions need to be taken to protect drivers.

With tensions running high among the workforce and growing concerns about safety, passengers should be prepared for potential disruptions or industrial action if meaningful changes are not implemented. Bus drivers have had enough, and many are demanding urgent action before an even more serious tragedy occurs.
