my cat keeps getting a swollen lip
i’m 22 f with a 2 year old cat. he has had this reoccurring problem every few months where his lip gets all swollen, and we usually have to take him to the vet so that he can get steroids. however, every single time we’ve gone we have never received an answer as to what exactly it is or what is causing it. i first had a hunch that it was a poultry allergy and switched his food, but after about a month and a half of that his lip is swollen again :/ i have the petlibro water fountain that i religiously clean, and he eats out of a ceramic dish that gets washed immediately after he’s done. i’m just truly unsure what to do or how to help him, as my partner and i can’t afford to drop $300 every time this happens. i’m hoping their is something preventative i could do for him to help stopping this from happening again, or if anyone could at least guide me in the right direction as to figuring out what exactly this is.
