My 2006 S2000 AP2 with 93k miles + mod list so far

Hello guys!

I owned an AP1 for about 5 years before it unfortunately got taken out by a grandma who ran a red light and T-boned me. Losing that car sucked because anyone who has owned an S2000 knows they become more than just a car after a while.

Not long after, I found this AP2 in pristine condition and picked it up right away. Previous owner was a Honda master technician, and it definitely shows in how the car was maintained and put together.

I’ve owned it for about a year now and slowly tailored it to exactly how I wanted it. I’ve had plenty of chances to move on to newer and faster cars, but every time I get back into the S2000, it reminds me why I keep coming back. The steering feel, shifter, chassis balance, and the way the car communicates with you are just special. Newer cars may be faster, but very few feel this connected.

At this point I honestly think I’m stuck with S2000s for life.

Recaro SR7 + PCI Racing SR specific slider and mount installed

I have a 2006 AP2 S2000 and my stock seat finally started showing its age. On top of that, the previous owner was a pretty big dude (around 6’2” and 230+ lbs), so the stock bolstering was completely worn out and dead.

After researching for a long time, I decided to go with a Recaro SR7 reclinable seat paired with the PCI Racing SR-specific slider and mount setup. I was honestly nervous about this combo since there really weren’t that many reviews or install experiences online.

In my previous AP1, I had a Recaro Pole Position with Recaro Japan rails. It was amazing for spirited driving, but I absolutely hated getting in and out of the car because the bolsters were so aggressive. Since I daily drive my AP2, I wanted something with lower bolstering that would still hold me in place while being comfortable and practical.

The installation actually wasn’t too bad — just tedious and required a lot of adjustments. The instructions from PCI Racing are honestly not the greatest, but after studying the diagrams and watching a couple YouTube videos, I figured everything out myself.

At first, I sat a little higher than the stock seat because the cushioning is still brand new and firm. After driving around for a while though, I kind of “sunk into” the seat and now it feels much more natural and comfortable.

The outer bolster does touch the transmission tunnel slightly, but it does not interfere with moving the slider back and forth at all.

For reference, I’m 5’7”, around 150-155 lbs, with a 29 waist. I can pretty much fit in any seat, but I’m extremely picky about cushioning and comfort. To me, this seat feels similar to the first-gen FRS/GT86 seats mixed with an FK8/FL5 Civic Type R seat.

Overall, I’m really happy with my choice. Feel free to ask me any questions about the setup.
