So happy I had today off
I popped into my store today to do a bit of shopping and look around as it’s my stores grand reopening after remodel. All of my coworkers looked so traumatized - apparently our market guy yelled at them all morning about pick rates and how the back room is going. He had my coach in tears and all the TLs were just wrecked.
Our pick numbers have been horrible lately, we’re located in a heavy cabin traffic area and have been extremely short staffed. Mix in the remodel moving every thing around to the point where we’ve been relearning where things are (they just moved around half of grocery in the last two weeks) and the six tote rule, we’ve been just slammed with numbers. Instead of market being helpful by lowering our numbers they’ve raised them exponentially, yesterday I saw our numbers go over 2000 for the first time since I started working there.
How are we expected to get everything done when we’re so short staffed? Most of our high school kids just graduated so they’ll be off to the next thing soon, a lot of the pickers are older people who are struggling with numbers, and burn out is becoming super prominent in the department. Our coach was constantly requesting store help the last two weeks and kept getting ignored, one of the TLs went and found people in other departments who were just sitting on their phones so we could get a few helpers.
