Probably switching from front end to digital, wanted to know what it’s like and was told I should ask here

Basically just the title lol. I’ve been at the front end over a year now and honestly I’m just tired of working directly with customers all day, like genuinely tired, I was told there’s a spot open in “Digital” and to my knowledge that’s OGP. I vaguely know some people who switched from front end to digital and didn’t mind it, but I thought I’d ask here if it’d be a good decision or if I should tough it out in the front end until an opening in a different department I want more shows up

What is the difference between these two?

They're literally the same strength, same weight, same price but different upcs. AND they're stocked side by side on the same shelf section. I had to dig like 4 items back before I found the correct UPC.

I got promoted to customer

Welp got promoted to customer bc my TL said my shorts were too short and it looked like I had nothing on, mind you my shorts are BRIGHT red and he gave me a warning before and said make sure they go past my fingertips and these do. I pointed it out and he said disregard that and asked for my uniform. I’m not even upset but damn gotta find another job now.

Wishing you all the best

For everyone working today and tomorrow I send my blessings. I had a short shift today and it was beyond crazy (overdue by 7 with no end in sight). Ended up scheduled off for tomorrow (not entirely sure how that happened) and not going near the place. So good luck, may all your customers be pleasant.

Anyone else get annoyed with all the people on electric scooters during the busy times of the day?

I completely get needed them and the scooters are decent sized but I always try to stay out of the way and make sure they have enough space to move freely, but today it felt like 90% of the store was on scooters and were blocking all of the isle ways. I just genuinely don’t get the entitlement of some people. I mean regular carts are the same way but at least you can work around those. (Genuinely saw a train of like 5 people going down one isle on the scooters)

It's almost time for your break? Here's a 100piece pick walk loser!

Every single day I get tiny sub 25 piece walks up until it's time for a break, lunch or time to leave. Then the system drops a 100+ piece pick walk

Why!?

Deliveries going away in OPD?

I work at Walmart Online Grocery Pickup (OPD), and we were just informed that starting next month on July 22nd, our store will be doing away with delivery orders. From what we were told, Spark drivers will now handle all delivery orders, including picking and fulfilling them. This means we will have significantly fewer orders overall, since we will only be handling pickup orders and GMD (general merchandise delivery) orders.
My question is: has anyone else had this change happen at their store yet? If so, how has it affected full-time OPD associates where you work?

New scheduling

I was just informed that our schedules will now be made with AI. And management isnt going to be able to change it. So make sure you have days off on your availability ir it'll probably schedule you 7 days a week, 3 hours a day.

Substitutions at the end of a walk??

I was training someone today for a few hours. We had a walk where there were a few items not on the shelf. At the end of the walk (ended in produce), it wanted a sub back in Pharmacy. We went to get that and it printed an Unknown sticker (It wasn't an unknown item and it let it be scanned into the correct tote because we didn't notice the sticker at first). Then back to chips. The suggested sub wasn't there and the secondary sub was, so no label there. Then the third item wanted us to go back by Pharmacy!!!

What is going on? It wasn't like this yesterday when I was training (I am normally on Exceptions, but people love to complain - I heard no complaints about this).

No you may not get my manager

I don’t understand why when you help someone as best as you can but aren’t satisfied with your answer they ask for a manager.

A lady asked me “Do you have shredded lettuce in a big bag?” I told her where it was, pointed to where it would be located (we weren’t that far from it) and told her that it would be at the bottom. She then asked if I could go over and show her I told her “I’m sorry I’m timed I can’t do that” and then she asked for my manager. Ma’am I’m not going to get my manager because YOURE too lazy to walk over, look down and see the shredded lettuce in a bigger bag.

OSHA Prevented Pulling Carts - Walmart is now Quietly Switching the Wheels - Contact OSHA

Earlier this year, Walmart attempted to direct OGP workers to start pulling carts instead of pushing them. This followed major class action litigation involving employees hitting customers with carts. The guidance ultimately resulted in OSHA stepping in and Walmart reversing the policy.

That only happened because so many associates took the time to contact OSHA and report what was happening. It became such a significant issue that it was covered by major business publications, including Business Insider. If you're interested, you can read about it here:
https://www.businessinsider.com/walmart-changes-cart-rules-workers-pick-up-orders-safety-concerns-2026-5

Now it appears Walmart is making another end run around that intervention.

At my store, the front and rear cart wheels have been swapped, making the carts effectively impossible to push. They wobble all over the aisle, crashing into products and other carts. Associates are effectively forced to walk around to the front of the cart and pull them instead.

What makes this even more concerning is that the cart manufacturer places warning labels on the carts instructing that they are not to be tampered with or altered. Yet these carts have been modified anyway. I've now seen report after report in this subreddit from associates across the country describing the exact same wheel swap.

We already proved that our voices matter. OSHA acted because associates spoke up and documented what was happening.

If you're experiencing the same issue, please take a few minutes to file a report with OSHA. Every report helps establish the scope of the problem and gives OSHA the information it needs to investigate.

Report here:
https://www.osha.gov/form/osha7

OGP continues to grow, but that growth should never come at the expense of employee safety.

REPORT. REPORT. REPORT.

We made a difference once. We can do it again.

Changing wheels on carts violation.

Officially reported my store to OSHA for this bullshit. I hope these idiots get what’s coming and they have to change it all back. Hopefully this push/pull cart saga will finally end. Pushing is how carts have always worked and how it should be physically. The manufacturer even says they need to be pushed in bold red. I’ve had enough of market’s stupid decisions. Give us new equipment that we need? No, let’s send a single man in a shoddy uniform to change wheels on carts that nobody asked for. So over this crap.
