Best way to refund buyer?
Hi all! I sold something rather pricy on EBay and dropped it off in a parcel box on Sunday with USPS to try and get it to the buyer as quickly as possible because they wanted it as a gift by a specific date and paid for shipping. Long story short it’s been sitting in ‘Shipping Label Created, USPS Awaiting Item’ for six days now and has not moved. As the seller I’ve tried to call usps and they said on the seventh day I as the shipper can file a missing package claim so if it’s found it gets returned to med. I’m now unsure if it will reach the buyer in time and if it’s lost I’m not sure how long it will take to find it. I offered the buyer a complete refund once I open the claim if they haven’t received it by end of seventh day but I’m unsure for the buyer which would be best? To just refund them myself or have them open a case with EBay? Ebay’s tracking also has the same status message so I think either way they should be good. Buyer has been super kind and understanding thankfully.
