Sadie!

May not be a torbie - we’re wondering if her parents were brown and orange tabbies (so hope she’s ok to share here!!). But Mixed Toe Beans and lots of orange patches

Is our cat too chonky?

Maybe the wrong sub for this - but our cat Sadie (1.5-2ish, female) is an indoor cat, former stray and VERY, VERY food motivated!

We adopted her in January and she used to beg for food a lot when we were eating despite having 2 wet pouches, biscuits and treats most days. She doesn’t beg when we eat now and each day has 2 wet pouches (which she demolishes) and a very small handful of biscuits late in the evening to get her to go to bed, and treats more sporadically because i noticed she was getting a lil chonky. We wanted her to be an outdoor cat (as the rescue we got her from recommended) but she’s terrified of everything - just part of her shy/ anxious nature - and doesn’t dare approach the door, so we do our best to play with her regularly and help her exercise. She seems very happy to stay indoors where it’s safe and familiar and watch the world go by.

So I put it to you, our fellow UK cat owners: is our Sadie a bit too chonky? And do you have any tips on helping keep an indoor scaredy cat trim? Pics of our girl for cat tax.

UPDATE: thanks everyone for your kind and helpful responses! As advised in the comments I’ll chat to the vet about her weight before restricting her food or implementing any sort of diet, plus i think i’ll start to weigh her biscuits so we know she’s definitely having the right amount for her size :)
