Why Annapurna Base Camp is one of the best treks in Nepal 🇳🇵🏔️

Why Annapurna Base Camp is one of the best treks in Nepal 🇳🇵🏔️

If you’re thinking about trekking in Nepal and can’t decide where to go, Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) is honestly one of the best choices — especially for first-time trekkers.

What makes ABC special is the variety you experience in just a few days:

Beautiful mountain views of Annapurna, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), and Hiunchuli

Traditional Gurung villages

Rhododendron forests

Hot springs at Jhinu

River valleys, waterfalls, and glaciers

Unlike Everest Base Camp, ABC feels greener and more diverse. You’re constantly walking through changing landscapes instead of only rocky high-altitude terrain.

The trek is usually 7–12 days depending on your route and pace. Spring (March–April) and autumn (October–November) are the best seasons, but monsoon can also be beautiful with fewer crowds and very green scenery.

One thing I personally love about ABC is the moment you arrive at base camp early in the morning. You’re surrounded by massive Himalayan peaks from every direction — it feels unreal.

For beginners:

Moderate difficulty

No technical climbing needed

Tea houses available throughout the route

Possible without previous trekking experience if you prepare properly

If anyone here is planning ABC or has questions about routes, budget, permits, weather, or preparation, feel free to ask below 👇🇳🇵
