Reg. Nepal tourism via by road

Hello everyone,

A group of 7-8 of us are planning a trip to Kathmandu & Pokhara by car on Sunday or Monday. Now only doubt left for us is crossing nepal border. We will be driving 2 or 3 cars. The doubt is about carrying liquors. How many bottles can we carry per person legaly. As few of us are occasional drinker. They will drink only in hotel rooms at night only and use to drink only imported scotch or malts.

So is it safe to carry liquor with us in luggage bags? As getting news of higher border security checks.

Anyone who traveled recently or have knowledge reg. This pls help.

Poon Hill + Ghandruk (5-day) for 12 students – Is 8k/person doable?

Hey guys,
A group of 12 (bachelor students) is planning a 5-day Poon Hill + Ghandruk trek. We made our own itinerary to keep it beginner-friendly. You can check our detailed itinerary here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1gkjZz4yxPwcDBMPPt2jyOuyY1Q9-lsO1/view?usp=drivesdk

Questions:
1 Budget: Is 8k NPR/person realistic for 12 people? We’re students so trying to keep budget as minimum as possible.

2 Big Group Logistics: We want to book everything in advance to avoid room/transport issues.

3 Agencies: Any recommendations for reliable trekking companies that handle large student groups at reasonable rates?

We’d appreciate any feedback on the budget or leads for agencies. Thanks!

What’s the most peaceful place you stayed in Nepal?

Not necessarily the most popular tourist destination, just somewhere that felt deeply calming or almost unreal in its peace. Maybe it was during a trek, in a remote village, near a monastery, or a quiet homestay with an incredible view.

What was the place, and what memory from there still sticks with you?

Advice on Manaslu Circuit Trek

I am planning on doing Manaslu Trek Circuit with a couple of buddies. Planning on doing it on our own, without going through any agency. I have gone through a bunch of write-ups online regarding this trek and have also looked at the agency led itineraries. But we prefer doing it on our own without enlisting an agency. It's cheaper and more fulfilling that way for us. And we are all experienced trekkers who have done advanced mountaineering training. We are thinking of hiring a local guide to come with us as well.

What I would like to know here is anything helpful regarding the trek. If anyone here has done it solo or gone with a group, any tips you may have, anything that we should keep in mind cost-wise or otherwise, please share. It would help us greatly in planning.

How much cash should I actually bring to Nepal for a two week EBC trek ?

Trying to figure out the cash situation. I've seen you can withdraw from ATMs in Kathmandu but I'm not sure how much to take onto the trail. Do teahouses accept cards? Are there ATMs past Namche? Any advice is welcome, thanks

Some questions regarding a nepal trip

Hello everyone we are planning a road trip from india to Kathmandu by own car but there are few questions regarding this hope any one who recently traveled or have recent knowledge about borders

  1. Is it mandoratry to carry voter I'd for all person as one of us don't have voter I'd but have other proof like aadhar, pan etc.

  2. Car owner should be in car or anyone with valid RC and DL can cross.

  3. While online applying for bhansar its asking to upload bill copy and driving license. What is bill copy?

  4. Hearing news about strict checking on nepal borders. Any thing to worry about? As our group is of 7- 8 people (2 cars) so we will have to carry big baggage.

  5. We also planning to carry small cylinder and stove for road trip. Is that allowed?

  6. Got news that nepal implemented custom for anything above rs 100. What's that all about?

  7. Few of member drink alcohol, can they carry liquor inside baggage. How many bottle allowed? (Will only drink in night and that too in hotel room).

  8. Anything else or any suggestions.

Buying Original Photos of Nepal Tourist Places With Agreement

Hi everyone,

I run a travel and culture website focused on Nepal, and I am looking to buy original photos of tourist places in Nepal with a proper agreement and payment.

I am mainly looking for photos from:
• Kathmandu
• Pokhara
• Lumbini
• Janakpur
• Chitwan
• Trekking routes and Himalayan regions

Requirements:
• Photos must be clicked by you using your own phone or camera
• Photos should NOT be uploaded on social media, stock websites, or other public platforms
• Original/high-quality files only
• We can sign a simple agreement for usage rights and ownership clarity

If you are from these places or have a good collection of original travel photos, please DM me with sample previews and your expected price.

Thank you!

Mardi Himal trek(advice needed)

Hello everyone,

We are two friends from Pokhara planning to do the Mardi Himal Base Camp trek in the next few days.

We are traveling on a very tight budget (around NPR 5,000–6,000 per person). The plan is a simple 4–5 day trek with basic tea house stays and simple food like dal bhat, noodles, and tea.

We are not carrying expensive gear, just basic trekking clothes and essentials. Our main goal is to complete the trek safely while keeping costs as low as possible.

We would really appreciate advice from anyone who has recently done this trek:

Best and cheapest route from Pokhara

Real cost of food and accommodation on the trail

How strict is permit checking these days?

Any tips to complete it on a low budget

Any recent experience or suggestions would really help us plan better.

Thank you.
