Can my fiancé and I get married if I'm not on SSI/SSDI yet?
Hi! My fiancé is on SSI and SSDI, one of them being survivors benefits from his father passing. I've been denied by disability once and appealed and my appeal has been denied and I'm going to apply again soon since I have better support now. I'm on SNAP and my doctor has filled out a form that says that I'm permanently disabled and will never return to work.
Obviously, we don't want my fiancé to lose his benefits. Do we have to wait until I'm on benefits to get married or can we get married since I have no income and I have documentation that says that I'm permanently disabled and will never work again?
We both live in the US.
