VII. The Acts of the Penitent
1452 When it arises from a love by which God is loved above all else, contrition is called "perfect" (contrition of charity). Such contrition remits venial sins; it also obtains forgiveness of mortal sins if it includes the firm resolution to have recourse to sacramental confession as soon as possible.
The Catechism says we get our sins (even mortal sins) forgiven when we do the perfect contrition, which is done through loving God above anything else. But what does it exactly mean? That part seems quite abstract to me.
I'm a baptized Christian and I have a question.
Will we get saved by keeping the Ten Commandments (+ detailed laws from the Commandments)?
Or do I need to do something more to earn salvation?
