Refinishing veneer table

I have a table that has a wood grain veneer finish in a grey stain. Nail polish remover splashed on it so there are bleached out spots. I am going to try to sand the top lightly and re stain it. To avoid sanding it too much, since it’s a veneer, and I don’t want to lose the texture, is it possible to use something to bleach the color the way the nail polish remover did? I’m a newbie at the hardware store. Years ago I did refinish furniture that was painted. I used a paint remover that caused the paint to curl up, and I was able to scrape it off and then sand it. On this table, the finish did not seem to react like that to the nail polish remover, it just bleached the color. Thank you

I had an hour long ride where I realized after a while that the driver had two phones. One was dash mounted and going through his sound system. It was displaying the directions and he got a phone call on it. The other was propped in the area behind his steering wheel and I presume connected to the earpiece he had in. Knew something was up because his head was tilted at an odd angle. I got a video of it but it’s not great and uber is handling this with AI bots, so not at all.

I don’t want a refund, I don’t want to be in the road with this lunatic. Do you call highway patrol or what? Terrifying! I didn’t confront him because we were on a bridge going 75 and I have a friend who complained to her driver and he forced her out of the car so I have that in the back of my head.
