ASD or POTS?

Hi everyone,

Have been struggling with extreme shortness of breath and fatigue. I've had the shortness of breath for years, but it's been worsening over the last year to the point where I'm panting if I go for a short walk. My heat rate jumps from 65 bpm to 100 bpm if I go from sitting to standing, and I get short of breath just standing up, sometimes even at rest now. My echo was clean, some minor regurgitation but nothing crazy. My EKG/ECG was clean, my stress test was clean. PFT showed mild obstruction, but nothing that would explain this level of shortness of breath.

Does this sound like an ASD? Did anyone have similar symptoms but clean echo/ECG before they got diagnosed?

I've got a bubble test coming up next week.

Thank you!

COPD or something else? (PFT results attached)

Hi all,

Here are my PFT results: https://imgur.com/a/LzUt73z I see my pulmonologist in December, so I'm hoping I can get some insight from the community while I wait for my appointment.

I'm a 32F with severe shortness of breath - it feels like I can't get enough air in, and walking from room to room, or doing very light exercise makes me gasp for air. I can't keep up with my friends if we're all out on a short stroll to a coffee shop, and it's super frustrating. I'm fit and I lift 4x a week, I'm muscular and lean, and the only other health issues I have are an autoimmune thyroid condition (which is well managed with medication), and high risk of heart attack (my Lipo A, a genetic marker of heart disease risk, is 300 - wayyy high).

I've done a stress test, echo, and all the basic cardio testing. While my cardiologist was shocked at how out of breath I was on the stress test, there was nothing to explain the shortness of breath on the results themselves. So he sent me to pulmonology, where I got this PFT done.

Unfortunately, they didn't test me with an inhaler. However, they did give me an albuterol inhaler to take home, and told me to try and see whether it helps. I've given it a good shot, and even used a spacer, but it doesn't help at all.

I'm super sad and frustrated :( I want to be able to keep up with my friends when we're going for walks without feeling like I'm actually dying. And I would love to be able to do cardio. Right now, I can last about 2 mins at 4 mph before I need to stop.

Does anyone have ideas as to what's going on?
