Should I leave my job and go for Master's? Need advice
I'm a 2025 grad from a tier 3 college currently working as an sde at a Bank and earning around 14LPA. I like the work here cus I'm learning a lot of stuff here (Development, Devops, Data and Cloud stuff).
I've always wanted to do Master's abroad, but looking at the current global condition, it feels extremely risky to leave this decent job and go out bearing hefty expenses. There is no job guarantee after doing Master's abroad ( given up on US, considering UK or Aus or anywhere else) and that makes the risk to reward ratio very high.
Since Master's abroad doesn't seem worth it anymore, should I take the GATE exam and give IIT CSE a chance? It seems like a long shot but I can always drop back to my job if I don't make it and plan something else. IF I do get in, is it sensible to leave my current job for IIT - are the opportunities worth it?
I am confused about everything here, and being paranoid about my job security in the future considering everything that is going on in this country AND globally. Getting into a decent university abroad seems a bit difficult, but honestly I'm clueless about what my next steps should be.
I feel like staying in this industry as just a B.Tech student will become obsolete in the next few years, and just hopping companies for increasing my pay would keep me stagnant after a while.
I need your thoughts on this
