Aug 19, 2026: Virtual Gratitude Circle (Rays series)

It's been a while for the circle, and I wanted to celebrate Okamoto's recent homer and rookie record. Congrats Oak on a great rookie year, and looking forward to seeing what you can do in the future.

Trying something slightly different for the heck of it, so please read carefully.

Join our gratitude circle, inspired by Kazuma Okamoto's pregame ritual.

Before and during the series drop something you’re grateful for, baseball-related or not.

Ground Rules for the Circle:

  • Please keep it positive. No player bashing, doom-posting, or hot takes here... Plenty of other places to do that.
  • Respect everyone’s contributions, even if it’s simple.
  • One gratitude per comment - you can post more, just keep it clean.

I’ll start: Grateful for the fun baseball this year, give something to listen on slow days at home. Sometimes you all share some interesting things and I think it's cool to connect with other fans. We've also been doing this a while here and there and suggestions are welcome.

Now it's your turn:

[Article] Sights and sounds from the Women's Pro Basebal League opener - Howard Megdal

If this has been posted before (I don't think it has) happy to take down.

In either case, I thought this was a nice article, made me further appreciate how much work went into having this space. Sharing here so others can give their thoughts.

I’ll start: grateful to everyone who's still here supporting the team. At the end of the day, its a game and sometimes a rollercoaster. I admit it's also kind of fun to complain together. As a side note, I am also grateful for recent fun soccer performances (ahem Belgium), really brought a smile to my face there.

I'll start: Its the Jays Pride Night today. I'm grateful that this beautiful city supports and grows an awesome mix of queer community. It hasn't been a great time for many queer folk over the last couple of years but having the resilient community spaces that we do have in Toronto is something I have always appreciated in the midst of everything happening out there.
