Photos from 20 Years ago (nearly!)

I was visiting family in Toronto 20 years ago - these popped up in my Google photos today.

To add - I'm from the UK, I'd never watched baseball and I had no idea what was going on for most of the time I was there, but had a great time talking to the two ladies who were sat next to me and trying to explain it. Jays won so all good in the end!

Also hope that Jay and Rian are having/had a good birthday this year.

[Shi Davidi] John Schneider called Andres Gimenez’s 11-pitch walk “the at-bat of the year.” Jesus Sanchez got winded when he hit the ground, said Schneider. He’ll be reassessed tomorrow.

[Highlight] On the 11th pitch of the AB, the Blue Jays take the lead in the 7th on an Andres Gimenez bases-loaded walk. The bases remain loaded with no outs as Cam Schlittler departs the game.

[Just Baseball] Trey Yesevage in his first 5 starts of the season: 25.1 IP/ 3 ER /29 K’s / 1.07 ERA/ 1.89 FIP / 1.07 WHIP. What a start to the season for the young Blue Jays SP 🇨🇦

[Thomas Hall] Nathan Lukes was, finally, able to start his single-A rehab assignment tonight in Dunedin. He went 0-for-0 with 2 walks and a sac-fly as the DH

[Matheson] The rain has just started here at Yankee Stadium.

Matheson sure sounds optimistic about a potential double header tomorrow. 😭

Toronto Blue Jays [2] vs. New York Yankees [1] (2026-05-20)

Pitcher's duel between two second-year pitchers, Yesavage and Schlittler, is won decisively by Trey Yesavage, at least in their final lines. Otherwise, it was yet another close game, decided by a run, like every other game in the series so far.

Aaron Judge wears a golden sombrero, striking out thrice to the Blue Jays' starter.

In his 2 career starts against the Yankees, in 11.1 IP, Yesavage now has 2 Hs, 0 ERs, 1 BB, and 19 Ks.
