[Bannon] Brett Bateman left with hamstring tightness, the #BlueJays say. Josh Smith, who appeared in pain after crossing the plate in the 6th, has come back out to play 2B. The Jays don't really have many other options with Ernie out sick.

[Zwelling] Vladimir Guerrero Jr (concussion IL) is going through a full workout today — running, groundballs, on-field BP, etc. Blue Jays still targeting Saturday for his activation. Guerrero could play a rehab game on Thursday or Friday with Dunedin if he clears concussion testing

Max Scherzer - 27.07.2026 Jays v. Nats | Colour Film

this was my first time shooting in colour film!!

brought my canon ae-1 to the Jays v Nats game on July 27th. got the film developed at the lab and scanned. these are the raw images, have only been cropped.
thought it was really neat to get action shots of his pitching, and happened to capture 3 that line up pretty well !!

Aug 19, 2026: Virtual Gratitude Circle (Rays series)

It's been a while for the circle, and I wanted to celebrate Okamoto's recent homer and rookie record. Congrats Oak on a great rookie year, and looking forward to seeing what you can do in the future.

Trying something slightly different for the heck of it, so please read carefully.

==

Join our gratitude circle, inspired by Kazuma Okamoto's pregame ritual.

Before and during the series drop something you’re grateful for, baseball-related or not.

Ground Rules for the Circle:

  • Please keep it positive. No player bashing, doom-posting, or hot takes here... Plenty of other places to do that.
  • Respect everyone’s contributions, even if it’s simple.
  • One gratitude per comment - you can post more, just keep it clean.

I’ll start: Grateful for the fun baseball this year, give something to listen on slow days at home. Sometimes you all share some interesting things and I think it's cool to connect with other fans. We've also been doing this a while here and there and suggestions are welcome.

Now it's your turn:

I hope you guys make the postseason again

Was really fun watching this team last season and seeing how an entire country rallied behind the Jays. Not trying to karma farm or anything, I just genuinely thought it was really cool seeing how much the Blue Jays meant to Canada and how everyone seemed to come together behind them. It felt like a whole nation had something to rally around. Would be awesome to see that again and have the Jays back in the postseason.

Free to Read: Alejandro Kirk’s breakout August is keeping the Blue Jays’ playoff hopes alive

The Toronto Blue Jays have been holding out for a hero, just one bat to carry an offence desperate for star production. From the quiet corner of the clubhouse, a new contender has emerged in Alejandro Kirk.

During Toronto’s 11-6 August, a hot streak the Jays extended with a 10-5 win over the Tampa Bay Rays on Tuesday, the pitching and defence have been pristine. Their team ERA this month (2.87) entered Tuesday as the best in baseball. The fielding by Outs Above Average (plus-eight) leads the American League.

The runs, though, remain hard to come by. Except for Kirk.
