Was talking on the phone and didn’t realize that I had just put $19 worth of diesel into my 2026 Civic. I’ve driven about 30 miles. What should I do?
I am driving from Burlington, North Carolina to Raleigh, North Carolina. It is approximately a 49 minute drive. I currently am about 10 minutes away from my destination running on diesel fuel. I cannot afford to be towed. So I just ended up driving, hoping, and praying. How screwed am I? Do I need to get the tank drained? Is there a way I can do it at home for free? I repeat, I cannot really afford expensive service for the vehicle. I know it is my fault I know it was stupid but I was not paying attention. What should I do?
