Jacopo is one of the greatest characters ever

In my opinion, he’s easily T1 in all of fiction, and it genuinely bothers me to see this subreddit — despite its usual issues — fail to appreciate his character or even speak about him properly. If you haven’t already, please read THIFM + RFI; and if you have, feel free to share your thoughts. I’m always down to discuss.

We need to stop this interpretation that eren was acting throughout season 4

This is common misconception. Eren's character progression wasnt an act. The only time he put on an act was when his friends were present in the scene with him, not only as a way to push them away to make them go against him, but also as a way to mske sure they didn't join him to become monsters. Just as he was acting when he was interacting with Zeke in order to get him to lower his guard so he can use him for his royal blood. However that doesn't mean everything he did was an act.

Which brings us to Eren. Eren in season 4 was good at using lies or half truths in order to make people do what he desired (just as he did with Yelena too). It's one of the biggest traits that sets him apart from his season 1-3 self who never would've done what season 4 Eren does. The story never once claimed Eren was acting throughout season 4 (otheriwse show me a scene that said that), the story only implied Eren pushed his friends away as a way to make them go against him, but not every character development in season 4 was an act. Even when characters grow and develop, they still have some of the same characteristics they still had before, in order to not create a discrepancy between who they were and who they are now. Guts from berserk is a good example; He has grown as a character, but he still has the tendency of throwing himself in battle, he still has rage when he sees Grittith, he still has his old traits of hopelessness when he feels like he failed, he still uses anger as a weapon. All those things are part of his character no matter how much he grows. Just as Eren has grown as a character but he still has his tendencies of laugh crying when he feels hopeless, he still had the tendencies to self deprecate himself when he feels like a failure: like calling himself useless, pathetic, an idiot, a half ass piece of shit, etc...but are all those moments suddenly implying Eren never grew?
Definitely not. True character growth is more than just a character going from point A to Z while abandoning what's in the middle. Hell denji from Chainsaw Man is another good example of this. Denji has grown as a charter since his part 1 self, but he still has his old traits such as being a pervert, prioritizing animals over humans, etc...again just because denji still has those character traits doesn't mean he hasn't grown as a character. But for some reason when it comes to Eren fans suddenly become obtuse to characterization, and they choose to prioritize their own hatred for the story over fair analysis of the characters and plot. It's truly unfortunate what aot Fandom has become

Thoughts on season 4 since I’ve seen people here don’t like it

I’ve seen a few complaints about that season on here, and honestly it baffles me because I really like it and also most of the criticisms feel pretty flawed. No hate to anyone, everyone’s has their opinion, but I’m curious what y’all think. Personally, I’ve got Season 4 at the top, followed closely by Season 5. Drop your thoughts.

I just finished otorimonogatari and I have some questions

In Nadeko Medusa, Nadeko says the “sins” she listed were just justifications and not the real reasons she acted the way she did.
What exactly are her “sins” as defined within the Medusa arc only?

There’s a scene where Nadeko tells Araragi she’s seeing snakes, and they arrange to meet at 10.
What exactly happens during that planned meeting in Nadeko Medusa?

Is there anywhere that has all the text cards for each episode?

You know those cards that frequently pop up in each monogatari episode it’s hassle to rewind and pause them so I was wondering if there was anywhere I could find each of those cards for each episode

Currently watching Nisemonogatari and there’s censorship on crunchyroll

First of all, I don’t have any issues with the clouded scenes. I’m just wondering whether they actually cut out any parts because of excessive nudity. If they do, let me know whether Crunchyroll is a bad option for this series and if I should use a pirate site instead.

What does “this world is wrong” mean?

Just finished this chapter and it was amazing, but I wanted a more nuanced look at Amon’s previous ideology.

From what I’m interpreting, it’s that Amon once had this black and white view on the ghouls and the CCG (hence the “you monsters are distorting it”). He never tried to understand the ghouls and immediately labeled them as all evil. The victims who have to deal with them, making the world wrong, are the humans/CCG. Amon most likely developed this mindset after the church incident, viewing himself as a completely morally right victim who suffered at the hands of the evil (Donato, the ghoul). And he’s not wrong to think this way, the issue here is that Amon believes every ghoul is like Donato.

So what would Amon do if he then turned into a ghoul, being forced to not be ignorant and try to understand the “evil”? After becoming a half ghoul himself and seeing the humanity of people like Kaneki, he can no longer maintain that black and white worldview. His transformation forces him to confront the fact that he was wrong about the nature of ghouls, wrong about justice, and wrong about himself.

In summary, Amon thought he understood evil because he saw Donato’s crimes. Amon then projected Donato onto an entire species.

Amon’s actions during his time as a CCG member contradicted this worldview.

Amon believed he was “fixing the world,” but he:

• he killed ghouls who were just trying to survive
• he enforced a system that treated all ghouls as complete evil
• never questioned whether the CCG itself was unjust
• never tried to understand the people he was exterminating

Essentially, Amon was not “fixing” the world; he was actively maintaining the very thing he thought he was fixing. And he’s notices this here

Lmk if im wrong or not if anyone else has a better explanation on this please send cuz I wanna learn more I’d also like if someone could explain kaneki side of “this world is wrong”

So I’ve just finished the 3rd cochlea raid arc and im really disappointed

Before I say anything else, this arc was definitely good. However, the hype I was getting for it made me expect more, and it honestly felt like not much really happened outside of Arima and Kaneki’s fight which was very good. I also really, and I mean really, liked the Toru storyline that’s developing.

People were telling me this was a 10/10 arc, and I don’t even know if I’d give it an 8. I did really enjoy the Tsukiyama Extermination Raid, though, and that’s definitely my favorite arc so far.

If anyone has an analysis of this arc or standout moments from it, I’d really appreciate it.
