Tower 28 is getting rid of doormen/concierges?

Hello neighbors at Tower 28 - did you see the mailing about Management's request to the Dept of Housing to get rid of our doormen/concierges, and without reducing rent?? If you're against this, please make sure to respond ASAP (14 days left).

Management sent a patronizing email summary today calling this:

"updates to concierge and access services supported by onsite team members and technology-based systems"

But if you read their actual application, it is specifically to:

"replace the Building's concierge with (a) on-site associates, (b) Amazon hub lockers and (c) a video surveillance system"

Pretty sure that by "on-site associates" they mean the existing management staff in the leasing office who I never see, and our lovely doormen will get fired. I know they used this same playbook at 27 on 27th, our sister building, to: (1) install the Latch/DOOR system with electronic sliding doors and then (2) fire all the doormen.

To me, the doormen greatly enhance my living experience here. They:

- are a friendly face to come home to

- make me feel more secure by having a human at the front desk

- help coordinate food deliveries (with the proposed new system, tenants will have to buzz in food delivery)

- someone I can reach out to if I need help with say the printer being out paper or the hot water not working, instead of a random AI chatbot 🙄

- help with perishables deliveries

- help receive and sort package deliveries

So if this matters to you, please try to at least skim the documents in the mailing (spoiler: it's biased and partially untruthful) and consider responding with an objection.
