Feedback for potential i4 buyer

First of all, thank you for reading this 😄
As an introduction I am looking for a car to buy and I am in love with the BMW i4. I just love it a lot... It really suits my likings.
The thing is, I would like to have a REAL overview of what to expect mainly performance and maintenance wise.
The situation is the following:
- I have had a 116d for 2 years and have now lived without car for more than 1 year (I moved country). Commuting by bus,train and bike.
- Living without a car is ok-ish except when the car is very handy. I think it's manageable but not enjoyable. I am a person that admires cars so...
- I have worked a lot and I think I deserve a treat. I start to feel that just living, saving money and not getting anything back is becoming a bit frustrating, especially when I see most people around me having better conditions. (I know comparison is a thief of joy though).
- Initially I was keen to go for a 420i to not rely on the autonomy of EVs. However I am quite worried about combustion engine maintenances and also fuel prices...
- Then I found the i4 which is very same looking and I just love the car. The issue is, knowing which version to buy. I have seen the xdrive35, xdrive40 and M50.
- I can get an xdrive35 07/23 with 39k km for 35k€, xdrive40 01/24 11k km for 42k€ (private seller) and an M50 12/23 37k km for 49k€ (can buy or do leasing).
- The main issue is understanding how each version impacts me because I would mainly drive short routes like 20 km per day (60% city driving, 40% highway) and 1 or 2x per year do a long trip to visit my parents (1700 km). I know on this one I would have to stop like 6 times probably or more but it's fine as I also need to rest.
- Biggest issue is budget. I would be more keen to spend 35k€ but at the same time, I don't mind pushing a bit more if it is really worth the extra for the 40 or M50... The M50 I would probably do a short term leasing just to gain a bit more time to get the money to buy it
Based on this, what do you guys recommend?
