I posted about this a month ago in r/Catio, but maybe it will help someone here also. I built a balcony catio using an IKEA Nordkisa wardrobe.

I reconfigured the shelves, added cat netting and covered each shelf with a different texture: sisal mat, felt mat, cardboard scratcher, soft bed.

We wanted a way for our cat to be safely on the balcony with us. She absolutely loves it! Yesterday she got face to face with a hummingbird when it flew right up to the catio and hovered right in front of her. So many birds, squirrels and other critters to watch. So much sun to lounge in.

Our catio looks stylish, it’s safe, and we don’t break any of the strict Strata (HOA) or city regulations.

Went out with my camera for a couple hours last night. Here’s what I got:

1. Only a couple of days old and already working on her resting goose face :)

2. Swimming lessons with mom.

3. Jurassic Park in our backyard.

4. Bro woke up this morning and chose violence.
