Missing marriage records
Hi, appreciate any help you can provide! I'm applying looking for my great-grandparents' and 2x great-grandparents' marriage certificates. So far I've contacted probate courts in Ottawa, Wood, Sandusky, and Lucas counties, but nobody can find these records.
Great-grandparents:
George Slovak and Helen Pokorny, married at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Genoa, OH on April 13, 1940. I've called the county probate court and have visited in person. They don't have a record of the marriage. I have this newspaper announcement.
2x great-grandparents:
George Slovak and Eva Migota (originally Jiri Slovak and Eva Migotova). They were born in present-day Czechia. Jiri arrived in the U.S. in 1905. Eva arrived in 1907. She was single when she arrived, based on this record.
George Jr was their oldest son, born on June 26, 1915. His baptism record (attached to Eva's family search profile linked above) from Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Genoa, OH names George and Eva, so I assume they had to have married in the States sometime between March 1907 and June 1915.
Thanks to anyone who might have advice for how I can proceed.
