Promotion eligibility at Oracle

I have completed 5 years at Oracle. EE-4 times, O-1 time. Have around 50 odd feedbacks in system over the years from various people all around. Have a very good reputation about the quality of my work. Leadership trusts me blindly. But it's been couple of years, am asking for a promotion, my RIF'd Manager (14th September), always used to tell me he does not have options to promote me and never used to collect any data which might be required to build a case for me. Not sure how this promotions takes place or work in Oracle. One time I got a hike in past 4 years. This year is a mystery.

Thinking of waiting until November and plan my exit next year if I do not get a promotion.

APAC employee.

Thoughts?

Thanks.

Passed PMI PMP Exam

Hi Everyone,

I just passed the PMI PMP exam today (Online - At Home). Used the URL to check whether I passed or failed (https://auth-certification.pmi.org/authorize/pearsonvue?registrationid=##########&action= individualScoreReport)

Preparations:

  1. AR's 12 hours crash course.

  2. AR's 200 Questions.

  3. DM's 200 Agile Questions.

  4. DM's 150 Drag and Drop Questions.

  5. SH essentials - Completed all SH Practice exams with avg score of 71% (69% in full Length Exam 1 and 73% in Full Length Exam 2). Practice questions only could complete 200 out of 717 with avg of 65%. Browsed through Flash cards once. Game Center attended almost every one of them. And browsed through the content materials for more PMI standard overviews and approaches.

  6. Solved 300+ questions from readily available Q&A's on the internet.

  7. Prepared for 1.5 months.

How did it go in the exam?

  1. IT WAS BRUTAL.

  2. Got ~10 drag a drop questions. You cannot do it in 1-1.2 minutes. Impossible.

  3. 5 Calculations with graphs to analyze. You cannot do it in 1-1.2 minutes. Impossible.

  4. 2 A4 size questions. You cannot (read) do it in 1-1.2 minutes. Impossible.

  5. Questions way way above SH/AR/DM's questions.

  6. Got around 15 questions where you need to have extensive knowledge on topics, theory and deep understanding.

  7. 5-6 Graphs to calculate EMV/Risk (P*I). You cannot do it in 1-1.2 minutes. Impossible.

I do not know how did I manage to complete the exam, how did I analyze the questions, how did I apply the mindset and how did I calculate/analyze the graphs.

I have never given an exam so brutal, so tough, so difficult to interpret, so difficult to analyze in such a short time.

Don't worry guys, you might not face this situation in your exam paper. But I wanted to share my experience with all.

I will remember this exam for a long long time!!!

Phew.
