Administrative Processing

I am writing to seek help regarding my EB-3 immigrant visa application, which is currently under administrative processing.

I would like to provide a brief of my case for context. The application process began in 2022, and my priority date is September 2022. I was initially scheduled for an interview in 2024; however, my employer at the time rescinded the job offer, which effectively reset my case. Fortunately, my agency was able to secure a new position with a different employer, and my priority date was recaptured and retained from 2022. ( I am a registered nurse)

Subsequently, retrogression occurred in the visa bulletin. In 2024, I married and added my husband and stepchildren to my application. In 2025, I gave birth to triplets, who were also added to the case. As my husband and children reside in Germany, I requested, with my employer’s consent, to transfer my case from the U.S. Embassy in London to the U.S. Embassy in Germany. This request was approved, and I was offered an interview date in March.

On March 13, 2026, all eight of us—myself, my husband, three stepchildren, and my triplets—attended the interview. I am originally from Nigeria but presented my British passport during the interview. My husband and stepchildren presented their German passports, while my triplets presented their Saint Lucian passports at that time. The consular officer was courteous, she gave a verbal approval, but issued a Form 221g requesting the submission of either British or German passports for the triplets, as Saint Lucia is currently subject to a visa pause. Additionally, it was noted that my medical results had not yet been transmitted to the consulate, and this was also requested in 221g.

In May 2026, we submitted German passports for the triplets and received confirmation from the embassy on May 26th that both the medical results and passports had been received.

In June 2026, I received another 221g notice indicating that the passport photo I had submitted was older than six months. I promptly retook the photos and sent them to the embassy the following day. On June 15, I received confirmation of receipt of the new photos.

However, on June 22, I received an additional email stating that my case had been placed in administrative processing and that this cannot be expedited.

Given the above, I seek guidance on the following concerns:

  1. What could have triggered the administrative processing at this stage, given that all requested documentation has been submitted and acknowledged?

  2. Is it likely that my visa will be issued before the expiration of my medical examination results on September 4, 2026?

  3. Are there any further steps I can take to facilitate the timely resolution of my case?

This prolonged uncertainty has caused significant stress for my family and me, and I would be most grateful for any advice or assistance you can offer.
