Moved in in October and knew they were going to be an issue. I just don’t know what to do.

I don’t have much experience with roses, but do have experience with plants & landscaping. We bought this house and moved in in October and I knew that I would need to deal with these. They are uncomfortably close to the porch and stairs.

I do like them, I think they’re a beautiful color. I would like to maintain them in the same general place. I’m just afraid of I chop them down AND dig them up I’m going to shock them to death.

They feel leggy and ridiculously unsupported.

I could just use some suggestions from more seasoned individuals who know a thing or 20 about roses.

My immediate need is they need to come up and they need to be much farther away from where they are. Then, how do I get them in better shape/condition.

Please help!

EDIT: I am in zone 8b.

We will be tearing out this porch and stairs and putting in a new one and redoing the entirety of the flower beds. Even with a climbing rose, (or any climbing plant in general) I find it too close and not enough good space to provide a support that isn’t the structure of my house.

There’s a lot of beautiful plants, but the previous owners seemed to plant “what was pretty” to them WHEREVER instead of considering what it would all look like when everything was established and grown. There’s so much chaos! So far there are only 3 things I am committed to eradicating. Everything else has a new identified home.

At what point do you just give up?

Sometimes, it’s just not going to work out with a plant. For whatever reason. The only other plant I’ve given up on in the last year came to me with terrible root rot, (it wasn’t a plant I even wanted), and perished rather quickly.

This one is another that was given to me, and we just can’t seem to work well together no matter what adjustments I make (6 months of watching her struggle and making changes just to continue to watch the struggle). I’m over the time spent trying to make it work.

At what point do you say enough is enough, and move on from trying?

What do you usually do with the plant at that point (if it’s not dead dead)?

I got my new set and I like them so much better

I feel SO MUCH BETTER about how they look. They are so much smaller and take up way less space overall in my mouth. It’s so nice to feel like my mouth has room to do mouth stuff lol

I feel like they are much better suited to my face and I don’t look as aged as I did. I can actually rest and feel natural. I know I didn’t *need* a new set, and could have gotten another hard reline done, and just had those teeth for another 5 years, BUT I’m so happy that I was able to get this new set.

It took me about an hour and I was talking mostly normal. My S sounds are a little off (they have never been great my entire life though so I’m not super bothered). Eating last night was a little different, so that’s an area for adjustment with these. Otherwise I’m just excited.

Everything with dentures is a process. We don’t just get them one time and are done with the process unfortunately.

I have never had one of these flower. I got a small one as an office warming present. Other than bottom watering her, she’s just been sitting in that pot, in need of an up pot because she’s just roots with a pinch of soil left, forgotten about until the weekly watering…….. OR until I notice a flower. This is the 2nd one I’ve seen in the last couple weeks! Now I’m afraid to treat her better in case she won’t give me flowers lol
