My friend gave me his old Hp VICTUS laptop to use for a while. Is it worth buying permanently?

So 2 weeks ago one of my best friends gave me his laptop so I can use it to play games for awhile since my hp laptop just sucks. It's an hp VICTUS with AMD Ryzen 5 7535HS with Radeon Graphics, 8GB ram and a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2050 graphics card with 477GB of storage. He told me he could give it to me for 35k INR, that's close to at least 365 USD. I'm not a rich guy or anything but I know I can't afford a good laptop at least not until college and this seems like a good deal but I am in fact asking for advice, is this a good deal or nah?

Just spilled some milk over my laptop which is only holding up by 3 books on its back am i cooked or nah?

I was drinking milk and then suddenly my hand slipped and the milk got all over my desk i tried to take my laptop away as soon as possible, but some milk got into it and it's working fine my laptop isn't great it always lags most of the time so I was wondering if this is going to be a bigger problem. I don't think it's worth to repair this one because its already breaking apart but I still need this to work for at least one more year I cleaned my keyboard with some Isopropyl Alcohol 75 percent to be exact, with a brush. are there any other things I can do?
