Seadoo Sportster Fuel Tank Clean/Removal
Gas cap was stolen from my sportster, now I’ve got mud dauber nest in the fuel tank.
Nest was in the filler neck assembly but dropped into the tank after pulling the filler neck off. I don’t have photos of the engine bay at the moment but it seems like the only hope for removing tank requires removing the engine.
Fortunately the tank is empty so i was able to vacuum out some of the debris. After further investigation with a boroscope it appears they may have nested in the tank directly as well. Mud is caked on the bottom of the tank in a small spot, otherwise everything looked clean.
Any advice on effectively cleaning out this tank? I considered adding a bit of fuel and agitating the tank somehow, then either sacrificing that fuel or running a polishing cycle. If anyone has any suggestions would love to hear!
