AIO My husband ate the last of the ramen

Okay so me (44) and my husband (43) have three kids at home (21m), (16m), (11f) and we have a roommate living with us that contributes to the bills and food. We are struggling right now with food right now and some household members (not my husband) are donating plasma to keep up with the rising food and gas prices that are happening right now. I work full time (I originally said part time I am editing this to fix, I work full time oh my gosh I can't believe that's what I wrote, sorry), my kids are all students, and my roommate is working part time. My husband hasn't worked in 11 years but is in the middle of applying for disability.

Our current situation is that we're almost out of food until tomorrow when plasma can be done to get food in the house. I basically ate bread for breakfast so I can make sure the kids have enough to eat until tomorrow. Yesterday everyone made ramen and we had about a half a box left. This morning apparently we only had two packs left and I didn't know it. I was on the couch with my daughter just hanging out and my husband comes up to make ramen. Except when my husband makes it he makes TWO packs. He made the last two packs. He told me he was making it but I didn't realize he was making the last of it to eat it all himself. After he went downstairs (where he hangs out on his computer to play games) I went to the kitchen to make my daughter chicken nuggets (which was put aside for the kids only so they can have a protein) and I was going to make myself ramen. But I checked the cabinet and there was none there and the box was in the trash.

Immediately I messaged him and asked if he ate the last of it AND made two packs and he proceeded to defend himself stating that everyone makes two packs when they have ramen (they don't). I went off. I went downstairs as he said I can eat the rest of his but declined because I don't make it the way he does. And I told him he was wrong for making double portions as well as eating the last of it because we are struggling so much right now and I'm trying to make the food stretch for the kids. He goes on again about how everyone makes two packs at a time and I told him he's full of sh*t and he doesn't need to eat two packs at a time especially when we're struggling and I'm basically eating bread so everyone else can eat. He didn't even ask while he was opening the last two packs if I've eaten or if I want some.

So AIO for going off on him for eating the last of a food we could have shared in the first place?

Edits:

I feel like I need to add some context since reddit users are master investigators and I know this to be this.

  1. Yes I have a Master's in Education..I worked as a teacher for two years. My third year of teaching it was a new school and they didn't make the cut and I got laid off. I've been working as a tutor ever since but it doesn't pay as well. Teaching requires a license which I do not yet have because I was working for charter schools that do not require them but now MOSTLY all schools require it so I'm working on it..

Unfortunately I failed the test the first time by ten points and I'm looking to retake it.

  1. I work full time not part time. I definitely messed up typing that one.

  2. We were on assistance SNAP but they closed my case became I didn't turn in a form on time and now I have to start all over again in the process.

  3. No this is not fake or rage bait and no I'm not looking for money from anyone that's ridiculous.

  4. We have applied for disability before and I just never appealed. We just keep starting over because then time goes by and it never goes anywhere. We are appealing this time..

  5. This situation is new and we've never been this low on food, at least not for a very long time. I thought everyone would do their part to make it stretch and that didn't happen.

  6. My older son IS actively looking for work but we are all sharing a car and it's better for me to work full time than my son work full time if there was a choice between the two. He's looking for an overnight job. Y'all know how hard finding work is. Speaking of, my roommate will work full time eventually, but they are a roommate they are not responsible for feeding my kids?
