Great ROI Purchases you can do in NITJSR hostel Life

I am giving this advice as a passout from NIT JSR.

It will cost you some money , but it's good ROI for yourself . Instead of buying a 50k+ phone , please buy these instead .

If you can afford these , please do .

  1. Wide mouth electric kettle in which u can boil eggs and cook Maggi .

  2. A coir mattress ( price around 2200 rupees, a good investment for 4 years), I had back issues with normal gadda.

  3. A monitor ( 22inch marq monitor costs 4k ,but good monitors cost 8k-9k 24 inch ones) . I am suggesting monitor because a bigger screen can help you in studying . A nice 24 inch monitor can save your eyes and you can do dual screen setup ( monitor + laptop screen ) for effective studying , like following a web dev tutorial , with your Code editor in 2nd screen .

  4. A tablet . i bought it for just 10k ,lenovo tablet .It was very helpful during exams . A digital pen for 4k rupees , which I used to add notes in PDF .

  5. While this is not allowed in hostel but if you can , have a cooler in room(A small cooler can cost 4k , some local brands cost 2.2k rupees but last only one season . I was lucky enough to sneak one and keep it for 3 years . The scorching heat is deadly here .

  6. Don't try to earn money specially like teaching in chegg or small gigs . If you really need money then only aim for passive income sources or winning hackathons(unstop) .It will help you in long run , career wise .

  7. Please only buy laptops with graphics card . Rtx or GTX anything .avoid asus , buy lenovo or HP Laptops . If you play games , invest in a 8bitdo game controller with hall effect joysticks ( cz no stick drift in long run, cost 2k for wired and 2.7k for wireless) .You will enjoy FIFA or WWE game with friends in a hostel room.

  8. A 17-18k phone is considered a sweet spot for me .Don't buy expensive phones. Invest that money on useful technical gadgets which I mentioned above .
