My Chocolate Labrador Lashley was Abandoned without my knowledge. I'm Still Looking for Him.

This post is a part of my final attempt to find my chocolate labrador lashley who was abandoned 5 years ago by my father. I will first post a short introduction before explaining lashley's story in detail.

About Lashley:

Chocolate Labrador Retriever

Nicknames: Boochie, Dachaley, Laboli

Distinctive white patch on his chest also known as bolo marks

Age when he was abandoned - 3 1/2 years old

Current age - 8 to 9 years old

Last known area: Domlur, Bengaluru (near Jogupalya, Indiranagar & Ulsoor)

If anyone living in Bangalore recognizes him, knows someone who might have adopted him, or have any information at all—even if it seems insignificant—please leave a comment or contact me through WhatsApp/call +91 8660826795

Detailed explanation of what actually happened & why he was abandoned

Back in 2021, during the COVID-19 pandemic, my family was going through a very difficult time financially and personally. Also during this time my father was suffering from severe chronic depression and other mental issues. After some time we had just moved to a new house, so my dad left Lashley to stay at my grandmother's house and claimed he would bring him to our new house. My father told me he would bring him to our new home once everything settled down. But few months passed by and this did not happen. During that time I used to visit him during the weekends. Some of the pics & videos i have posted here are during that time

So one day without my knowledge, according to my grandmother's account he claimed to take lashley for a walk and when he had returned lashley wasn't there with him. When he was asked about it he told her he had sold it or given it to someone but did not mention the specifics like to whom. When he came home he did not tell us about this. A few days later, my father took his own life at my grandmother's house. It was only then that we found out. During that time, our family was consumed by the shock, grief , funeral, legal matters, and everything that followed after my father's death so our thoughts were consumed by this and finding lashley wasnt at the forefront of our minds I also did not want to disturb my mother and other family members by bringing this up.

After some time we decided to search for lashley but had no idea where he went or with whom he was. We visited some well known breeders and rescue organisations but couldn't find him. Also found out that my father had also given away lashley's vaccination certificates & other things like prescriptions from the vets. So i had lost hope and finally decided that it was almost impossible to ever see him again. I loved him so much and wanted to be with him till his final years this was what made it so bad. I couldn't even see him to wish him a final goodbye before he left me. He was an extremely expressive and affectionate lab who always loved to be around me. I can't imagine how panicked and lost he must have felt after he was given away. He loved me like no other dog ever did. So I just suppressed those memories and went on with my life. But it just didn't work. For the past few months I have been feeling intense regret that I didn't do enough to find him, that I had in a way betrayed him. I kept dreaming about him regularly - both positive and disturbing dreams. So i finally decided I need to make a final and serious attempt to find him before he leaves this world. I want to be with him through his final years.

My search efforts will be both offline and online - I will visit every rescue organisation, veterinary clinics , breeders, pet boarding schools and kennels in my city. I will also be creating pages on every social media platform where I will be documenting and updating my search efforts. Even if the search fails i atleast get to preserve lashley's memories and get to tell his story to many. Hope this post wasn't too long. Thank you for reading

How do I make myself comfortable paying 35k as rent every month?

When we first came to Bangalore, we were living in a very cozy and spacious 2BHK that fit our needs. However, it was on the ground floor with no proper ventilation, though we were only paying 22,000 for it. I was okay with that house, but it had no car parking. My husband wasn't comfortable parking outside because of rat issues, so we moved to another apartment after 11 months.

It’s been 11 months since we moved to this second apartment, and now we have to move again because our workplaces shifted. It's a shame because I finally felt like I had my own place. I had everything figured out, including a wonderful maid who goes out of her way to make my life easy. I also have a beautiful balcony that I was slowly setting up into a cozy garden space.

After a horrible house-hunting experience, we ended up choosing a place with a rent of 35,000.

Here is my issue, I hate spending money. It physically hurts me whenever I have to spend, and I try to spend as little as possible. I dont like to splurge on clothes, food, or travel. Together, my husband and I earn around 3 Lakhs per month (mine being 1.25L and his around 2L), so we earn pretty decently though mine feels low compared to all the other tech bros in Bangalore. Still, having to spend 35,000 every month (and over 1 Lakh every quarter) on rent makes me want to cry.

I’ve suggested going for a cheaper place, but my husband cares a lot about aesthetics and living in a nice environment. I don't mind as long as a house is functional, but he wants it to look beautiful.

I just want to accept the fact that we are going to be paying this much rent. Can people please tell me why it is worth paying this amount before I start hating this new house too?

Looking for an immediate 1 BHK replacement in Panathur (Move-in by 22nd Aug) – Need Urgent Help!

Hey everyone,

I recently booked a good 1 BHK flat in Panathur, ready for immediate move-in from August 22, 2026. The society building is right on the main road, very close to the local bazaar, grocery stores, and all daily essentials.

The Situation:

I paid an advance token amount of ₹10,000 to the building owner. However, my current landlord unexpectedly agreed to extend our existing lease for another four months, as he is unable to find new tenants for such a short duration before handing over the flat to his relatives. Therefore, I no longer need to move right now.

The owner of the new Panathur flat has agreed to refund my ₹10k token only if I find a replacement tenant who takes the flat and moves in by August 22nd.

Details:

Configuration: 1 BHK on the 3rd floor of a 4-storey society building, Building has lift and nanual (security-operated) 24/7 power back-up.

Location: Panathur (Walking distance to markets/bazaar and daily amenities)

Move-in Date: Immediate / August 22, 2026

If you are hunting for a 1 BHK in/around Panathur and can move in by this Saturday, please DM me immediately! I can introduce you to the owner so we can finalize the handover smoothly. You will also help me get my token amount back!

Your quick help would save my token advance. Please drop a comment or DM me directly ASAP!

Bangalore rental hunt is testing my patience 😭 Nobroker vs Magicbricks vs 99 acres vs Brokers — what actually works?

I've been searching for a 1BHK in Bangalore for the past couple of weeks, and honestly, I didn't expect it to be this exhausting. I'm looking for something within my budget and reasonably close to my office, but every option seems to come with a new problem.

I started with local brokers thinking they'd save me time, but a few properties didn't match my requirements, and in some cases I travelled all the way there only to find out the flat was already rented. At this point, Bangalore house hunting feels like travelling across the city just to discover that the flat I'm looking for doesn't exist anymore. 😭

I actually read an article earlier about a Bengaluru tenant who got so frustrated with finding a 3BHK that he offered half a month's rent to anyone who could help him find one. 😂 (https://www.ndtv.com/offbeat/super-frustrated-bengaluru-tenant-promises-half-month-rent-to-anyone-who-helps-find-3bhk-flat-11241648?utm\_source=chatgpt.com)

Honestly, I can understand the frustration now. I've also tried searching on my own, but keep coming across old listings or 1BHKs that are already taken, so I'm considering using a proper rental platform instead of depending entirely on random listings and brokers.

I'm currently looking at Nobroker, Magicbricks and 99 acres. For anyone who recently found a 1BHK in Bangalore, which worked best for you? Were the listings actually updated, could you speak directly with owners, and did you manage to avoid unnecessary brokerage? Would really appreciate genuine suggestions or tips for finding a decent 1BHK without wasting every weekend travelling around Bangalore for properties that aren't even available. 😅

Looking for 2bhks within 30k around koramangala (not tavarekere or sg palya), indiranagar or langford town???

hey guys, my friend and i are almost up on our lease in Tavarekere and we really want to move out by November to a safe neighbourhood for two women. We own a dog so ideally these places have to be safe for us and the dog as well. do any of you have any leads? any good brokers who can help? i would rather not do it with a broker, find it organically. we want to settle in the house for a while and ideally our budget is very very tight. Max 30k. It’s genuinely frustrating looking for apartments without knowing if it’s safe for women or not. Help a girl out, I’ll buy you a coffee in return :)

27F, want to move into a 1BHK or 2BHK in Indiranagar / Domlur / EGL (not asking for vacant flat listings)

Hi, I want to move into a 1BHK or 2BHK near or in Indiranagar. Domlur or EGL is also fine. The problem is, the brokers are constantly misguiding me despite me repeatedly telling my requirements.

My requirements are pretty straightforward: apartment type of flat (not owner's own house, cause I want to avoid owner interference), light and ventilation, strictly Indiranagar/Domlur/EGL, and NOT "Kodihalli" being labelled "Indiranagar".

Yet, almost EVERY broker is asking me to "visit" their apartments and when I finally reach... they would still take me to another flat which is literally a mile away!!! That too, a flat which does not have any ventilation. Windows are blocked by the adjacent building. Super-tiny rooms. Depressingly painted walls. And the range is always 30k-45k.

Currently, I live in Whitefield and my 1BHK (24k/month) is bigger than the 2BHKs these brokers showed in Indiranagar or New Thippasandra. That too overlooking extremely dirty areas.

I'm really wondering, are you all super rich? Else, how are you getting apartments in Indiranagar or Domlur? I can't seem to find a single one that's good, even with 35k-40k budget.

Any help would be appreciated! I mentioned my gender too as safety is a concern.

If you have apartment names and contacts too (only and strictly for rent questions), please let me know over DM. Thank you!
