New convert to the merino wool shirts. Great for packing light and look good straight out of the carryon.

I bought a couple of Proof t shirts for traveling and some Wool&Prince (some t-shirts and polos). They're great for odor resistance and keeping you temperate. But the Proof t-shirts have stretched out so much over 3 months that they are like wearing a big baggy t-shirt - comfy but definitely not fitted anymore. Wool&Prince seem to have kept their shape.

With the premium that you pay I was a little disappointed. Anyone else have this experience?

Just bought some wool polos from SuitSupply - not as luxurious as W&P - curious how they will hold up.

I recently bought vehicles from both CarMax and Carvana. The contrast in quality and customer service was night and day.

The CarMax Experience: Seems thorough and professional
While shipping faced minor delays, the delivery process was excellent. The staff was incredibly thorough, detailing the vehicle perfectly and explaining the car's history and inspection points in great depth. After purchase, my independent mechanic inspected the vehicle. Aside from some standard deferred maintenance, they confirmed the car was in great shape and called it a "good deal."

The Carvana Experience: Awful customer service
My experience with Carvana was plagued by poor communication and terrible quality control.

• The First Attempt: After paying for the car and shipping upfront, delivery was canceled on the scheduled day due to "unexpected issues." Customer service could not explain the problem. I canceled the order for a full refund.
• The Second Attempt: A week later, the car reappeared online. A representative vaguely blamed a "battery issue" but claimed it was resolved. I reordered.
• The Delivery: The pickup was delayed again, this time due to a "window not going up" and they were detailing it. When I finally received the car, it was NOT detailed. The wheels were caked in grime, and the steering wheel was covered in greasy mechanic handprints.
• The Mechanic's Verdict: I took it straight to an independent shop during Carvana's 7-day return window. The inspection revealed structural and cosmetic issues: severe underbody rust that would requiring bolts to be cut to service it, poorly repainted bumpers with overspray tape still attached, bent rims, and an active oil leak.

The Bottom Line
CarMax seems to operate with transparency and actual care for the customer. Carvana operates like a low-tier, traditional used car lot with zero quality control.

Based on these two experiences: I recommend CarMax. I would avoid Carvana. And ALWAYS get your car independently inspected.
